strange phone call with direct group.... they were helpful

 

i asked for them basically to disclose any information reference my policy and after an argument with one person i was put through to very nice lady called gill. I asked to confirm if i have a policy, she said yes so i questioned why Nu have no data on me, she said its a specialised dept who deal with our policies and that is not available to the public for information. i asked if they had received payment from welcome for this policy and her words were "the policy is live on there system so yes they will have received payment, otherwise it would not be on there system", i asked her to confirm then that they had received payment, she said " we have received what we requested from welcome", i asked her to confirm that they had received payment and she said yes. I asked for the number of this specialised dept and she said that she could not give it out and that she would call them and ask if they will speak to me. She called me back to say that she has left a voicemail with this department and she will contact me once she has spoken with them. she has confirmed receiving my e-mail request for information and has told me she will e-mail me back with all the information on the policy.

 

 

i wont hold my breath

you got more info than me mojo :) - but I will wait and see what happens when and if manager calls me back

 

 

its sad that you have to be so firm, bordering on rude to have to get your own information. Dont think any of what she told me was true what she told me though, its so frustrating.

you all realise why the whole system is corupt and stinks,

 

people have been getting very fat at our expense

 

they are worried now that the truth is comming out and how much people have been ripped off

KEEP UP THE PREASURE ON DIRECT GROUP FOR ANSWERS, EVEN IF IT TAKES A COURT APPLICATION TO GET THEM TO RELEASE THIS INFO

its sad that you have to be so firm, bordering on rude to have to get your own information. Dont think any of what she told me was true what she told me though, its so frustrating.

 

If there is a specialised department then they would still have records of you when you phone NU. It may take some digging about within NU but the records would still be there and NU would have to tell you so seems unlikely to me.I know what you mean about having to be almost rude - I hate being like this but feel I have no other option to get them to take me seriously

Funny you've just been referred to in my converstaion with DG!!

 

DG told me NU would phone me yesterday and they didn't so I called back - the manager who I spoke with yesterday wasn't there so I asked someone else for the contact for NU and number.

 

She said the contact was Liz - no surname and the phone number they had didn't work so they would have to find out again and call me back,

 

I asked if they would call me back today and she said - yes we're doing the same thing for someone else that wants the same information.

I sniffed around at my land registry info as I never signed security form and found copies, they're 'ere on photobucket mine & theirs minus personal info

I can send them to you Pm but not sure they'll be of much use as you can see their copy is rather murky looking like their dealings. Interesting thing is i'm supposed to have 'signed' the security 7 days before I signed the CCA for the loan hhmmmm, none of my dates add up with Welcome and I've contacted land registry for a copy of security certificate to see what exactly they have put and if they filed it with register of companies within the 21 days time limit to make it a legal charge, none of their other dates are correct, why would this be different methinks...

 

My solicitor is also looking into the part of their security terms which states that 'including the advance or any further advance..' which means that the security can only be held if further monies are advanced, ie I extend the loan. I received nothing, welcome rewrote to pay their own interest & charges.

We shall see exactly what is registered and how, hope this helps Dandesparate or others.

 

As I have said because of this 'charge' welcome have a legal claim on any equity on my property (theres none now, oh what a shame) but it's a relief that they are not taking me to court for any outstanding monies, even though I haven't been in a position to pay them anything for at least 9 months + and still don't feel I can pay them anything without causing myself distress, oh and they haven't asked?! Yet still no court, and I wanted to show them all the hard work I have done and others have done. Did I say all that out loud? ;)

i cant as i cant bring any further litagation against welcome, nor them against me,

Now that is interesting.

 

I was promised over the phone, of course :rolleyes:, by Welcome that the only way that my interest and other charges can be frozen is if I enter a DMP with CCCS.

 

Hence this letter to them this morning together with my reduced monthly payment.

 

I have also forwarded a copy to their Customer Relations Centre at Hessle who I have already had dealings with.

 

The way to treat people like this is confirm everything in writing, play it straight down the line and then if it ever went to court, the district judge will see that I have done everything right and kept Welcome informed all the time of my financial situation.

I was in an IVA with Welcome and CCCS. Welcoem would not freeze the interest and every time i paid £90 they added on £270.

 

Thats why may balance is so much more than i borrowed.:mad:

it might be me being cynical but when dg call you

is it dg and not welcome calling back

 

check what number calls you and check it out

 

better safe than sorry

 

I am one of the biggest cynics and your right. when i was on the phone to this person i was wondering if i was speaking to someone at welcome because the first person i spoke to at dg put me through to this person and it seems strange that this specialised dept at nu wont speak to me and that she had to call them to ask them to speak to me.... what a surprise..nobody available but someone will apparently call me back

LOL... i think everyone on the site who has a policy should ring and request the same info so we can all compare notes... we could maybe have a competion to see who gets the first call back

DG KNOW i'm not playing - as I'm currently in litigation with Welcome it wouldn't take too much to get a judge to order it - they'll call back cos they want to know what I know :)

Is that true? I think i was given 7 days from the phone call to receiveing the forms. Then it all went through and i received a cheque. The forms were all in one pack and there was no gap between signing the CCA and the security from.

Its Complicated Welcome Can Charge Interest On Acceptance Fee But They Cant Add It Before Calculating Interest ,

 

Depend How The Filled The Agreement Out

 

My Advice Is To Do Some Bed Time Reading,

Hi,

 

I have today received a letter from Welcome, regarding my complaint that they have charged interest on my acceptance fee. The letter states that interest IS charged on the acceptance fee. Is this legal? I am sure they aren't allowed to do this?
