Hi Detemind

If you start by having a read through this which contains guidance and templates on your first moves. If you then start a thread detailing which financial bandits your up against, how much the loan was for, interests rates etc then you get answers to any questions/problems that arise

Hi guys. i wanted to know if anyone has dealing with HFC?

I had a loan with them for £7800 and ended up with a total of 11800 after the PPI. When I was made redundant I managed to get a job asap and moved on but fell into difficulty some months later. the bill is now paid and i need to know if i can reclaim the PPI I paid on that loan?

Oh, i also have the original contract i signed with HFC at the time detailing all the information including the true cost of the loan + PPI. The debt is not quite paid off just yet (nearly there) but is being managed by a third party. I'm down to the last 1500 but i strongly believe that this is just the PPI that's left.

As i have all the details, do i need to send an SAR or do i just kindly asked for the money to be returned

Hello Zzed,

Please start your own personal thread in the ppi forum, Your posts will not be seen as this is the successful claims thread.

Its up to you whether you send for the SAR or just work with the figures that you have. Is the ppi still running? If it has been cancelled they would have rebated the ppi and interest off the loan balance, wtherefore reducing the balance of the loan and affecting the amount that you reclaim back.

If you send the SAR, you may get more information regarding the breakdown of the ppi, applied interest and the rebates.

With watch out for your new thread

£7k PPI reclaimed on a Barclays loan.

Barclays initially refused a refund on the grounds that the claimant was employed as a 'home maker'. Of course this was utterly ridiculous and they repaid after the LBA.

Excellent news:D

A Home maker, did the claimant build houses, nearly choking on my tea, laughing at that comment barclays made. They were desperate weren't they.

I would reccomend anyone reading this thread to follow the link to the petition set up to raise awareness of the overpriced selling on PPi, with loan agreements.

Petition to: Prohibit loan companies from selling payment protection insurance with credit agreements.

spread the word, too many perople are being steered towards taking overproced ppi, in spite of the FSA's efforts to regulate the industry

Heathermc v Lloyds ****WON****

I was claiming on behalf of my husband who has a loan with Lloyds. He was told he would not get the loan without taking the insurance even though he didn't need it. He has been paying it for a year now and the refund of £628 will be in his account by Wednesday. They didn't even put up a fight.

Sent standard letter to Egg for PPI insurance claim in Oct. The loan taken out Jan 05 £5000 over 48 months loan protection £959.80. The letter says We have attempted to retrieve the call when you were offered PPI , unfortunately the tape has been corrupted and we have been unable to listen to this. Therefore a business decision has been taken to refund the PPI with interest as a gesture of goodwill without admission of liability. Please find enclosed a cheque for £324.75 this being the remaining premium of £292.83 plus interest of £31.92. Sent 2nd letter saying i would accept the cheque as part settlement but unless they could prove to me that it wasnt missold i wanted a full refund plus interest, received a letter yesterday offering me the full amount of the policy plus interest.

I involved the Financial Ombudsman after getting nowhere with the Coop Bank. I contacted them in October and received a confirmation of misselling last week. They said I had reached 65 ..and it should not have been sold to me. I am now awaiting a cheque for 2 years premiums plus interest.Result!!!!! I had provided medical evidence to the F.O. Iam now going to claim 2 earlier loans back on medical pre existing conditions.:D :D

Iwould like to thank everyone on the site for the encouragement and support, I can't believe I have been able to get so far and to win:)

Been claiming back from Blackhorse. 3 accounts, the first one I tried to cancel after 3 months and they said bogoff, I then sent the a copy of the cancellation request and their bogoff letter (which they kindly included in my SAR) and got a call yesterday saying they will refund everything from the date of my letter (Jan 2000) to settlement in 2004 at Contractual interest rate and then 8% from then on. I have now calculated the refund (and faxed my figures to them), it is for well over £5000 and worked it out using the CI through the loan and then CI through the loan I took with them to settle the first loan and then CI through the loan I took with them to settle the second loan and then CI through the loan I took with them to settle the third loan and then 8% for the remainder (all these CI added £800 to the total.

My advice is to do the SAR and check everything very carefully, then just keep at them.

I am off to raise the N1 for the other 2 accounts.

good Luck

I am still going ahead with the other 2 accounts as Mrs DM is self employed and they would never have paid out.

If I have helped click my scales....

I love these happy endings, I would love to be a fly on the wall at some high level bank meetings where they are trying to get to grips with all these claims and they will also be trying to predict what is the next area the big bad consumer will find to get them with.

well done you and your friend, hope they buy you a nice bottle of Champers.

Well NatWest have settled. After sending an LBA they paid out the full PPI amount and the intrest applied to the PPI but not the statutory 8%. I probably should have pursued it, but I just was happy with £7000 for the cost of a few stamps! Of course they didn't admit any wrongdoing and it was only a gesture of goodwill!!

Thanks to everybody who helped me out, especially hellhasnofury. :-)

Hi, I have gone after Egg for PPI refund ... how easy was it or not for u?

RESULT ...!! :)

Egg have almost fully coughed up my PPI claim .... just a few quid shy of 1k ... have paid £889 ... but I will go after the rest, which includes 8% (of which the court will award) added on.

Bottom line (imho) do not let this go .... THESE FUNDS ARE YOURS!

Onwards & Upwards
