  1. I am going for the specsavers re-test on monday... I just want to get all my ducks lined up so I can go postal at somebody...
  2. I wore them from the Sunday till Wednesday, and to be fair, blurred is blurred.
  3. I had an eye test in Vision Express and then took the prescription to Specsavers to buy my glasses. When I collected the glasses from specsavers they just aren't right, my vision is slightly blurred, not massively, but enough that it is noticeable. Specsavers have offered to do a free re-eyetest because they think Vision Express have mucked up the prescription (they would say that mind) and are adamant that my new specs are correct.... So assuming they claim the prescription is incorrect, where do I stand... I've paid £100 of the £219 to specsavers...I am going to have to buy the duff glasses and order new ones?
  4. I'm probably being a biff.... I'm trying to work out if we can get help with the childcare element of our tax credits... Both of us work more than 16 hours per week... what I am after is some kind of table stating the earnings breakdown to qualify for the childcare element...ie, what is the maximum we can earn and still be able to claim IYSWIM.... Thanks...
  5. Interesting about the AG charges, I don't remeber signing anything to get an advantage gold account. Should I have done? has the new year brought you any further to resolving your claims?8-)
  6. Well NatWest have settled. After sending an LBA they paid out the full PPI amount and the intrest applied to the PPI but not the statutory 8%. I probably should have pursued it, but I just was happy with £7000 for the cost of a few stamps! Of course they didn't admit any wrongdoing and it was only a gesture of goodwill!! Thanks to everybody who helped me out, especially hellhasnofury.

  8. Did I hear you mention that you were claiming back advantage gold charges as well? What angle are you using on that one? (providing you don't mind me asking of course)
  9. Is there any danger of a bank closing your account whilst/post reclaiming of PPI like they have done in bank charges cases? Anybody heard of this?
  10. Inspired by my ongoing battles with NatWest I've decided to do some digging on other loans and possible PPI I've had, but I can't find a template SAR letter. Am I being stupid and blind? Does anybody have one they could help with? Also do I need to know the loan account numbers to send off a SAR, or can I just request all the info they have on me?
  11. How is this so? Being in the RAF and also reclaiming, I'd be curious to know.

Another email and the LBA going to them today. Can't help but think they are going to call my bluff though.

Ok I'll draught up a letter. I'm a bit worried about this bit: "I am now sending you a letter before action giving you a further 14 days in which to reflect. I believe that this time frame is sufficient for a large company such as yours with its dedicated staff and departments. After that, there will be no further communication from me and I shall issue a claim at the expiry of this second deadline." Do you not think that as I say there will be no communication from me they might think that the matter is resolved? Secondly when I say "I shall issue a claim"... does this mean court?? And if so how do I do that as I'm not expecting them to refund my money? Thanks a lot for your help and time:)

In my first letter I gave them 8 weeks to resolve my complaint, which has just passed. I've not sent the lba you sent me yet, I have been awaiting there last responce, would now be the appropriate time?

Well update time, recieved two letters today as folows: First letter was standard confiming cancellation of my PPI and notifying me of my new payments. Second letter dealt more specifically my complaint and went as follows: Thank you once again for your patience while I have been continuing my investigation into your complaint. I am awaiting from our lending centre, answers raised in your recent letter regarding the intrest charged to the loan as a result of having PLI. I am sorry this has delayed me in responding fully to your concerns. As it is taking us longer than expected to resolve your concern, I am enclosing a leaflet that gives details of the FOS. If you wish you can refer your complaint to them, but I hope you will be prepared to give me a little longer to complete my investigation. I shall certainly contact you within 2 weeks blah blah blah. So what should I do now?????? Should a get more militant, reply saying 2 more weeks, or just wait and see?
  18. Good luck. If I may be so bold, what are you putting in your LBA? via pm if you prefer perhaps..
  19. I'm in a simialr position myself, just had a letter asking me to cancel, which after some help from HHNF, I sent. I'm awaiting there reply now.

PM sent. In relation to the amount of intrest do you mean the total intrest of £7773.84 as listed in my loan schedule or do you mean something else? Just want to understand what I'm asking for to get the wording right in the letter before sending it. Cheers.

Interesting development today got this letter: Thank you for your patience while I have been investigating your complaint about the personal loan insurance which was taken out with your loan on 6 Dec 2001. I am not yet in a position to respond to all your points in full because your complaint is still being investigated by our customer relations department. In order for your complaint to progress, please can you write and confirm the insurance on your personal loan is to be cancelled immediately. I am extremely sorry to have kept you waiting, but rest assured, I will contact you again within the next 2 weeks. In the meantime, if there is anything else you would like to raise with me about your complaint please call me on xxx and I will be happy to help. Anybody else had a letter like this before or any idea what it might mean??? I guess I should write and cancel the ins then?
  23. Sorry could you just clarify something. Are you saying that after succesfully reclaiming your ppi they defaulted you on your loan? Am I missing something? I'm trying to reclaim on a loan that I'm still repaying, is there a danger of them defaulting me?

Here is the letter I sent them: Mr. xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx 30/08/2007 Stamford Branch National Westminster Bank 52 High Street Stamford Lincs PE9 1BP Dear Sir or Madam, Re: Account number: xxxxxxx Ref No. xxxxxxxxx I purchased the above policy from you in 06/12/01 but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reasons: This is due to the fact that I was not given the correct information when the policy was sold to me, as your salesperson implied that taking out the policy would assist my credit application. your salesperson was very pushy in selling me the policy and that I felt I could not say no. your salesperson implied that taking out the policy was essential for me to get the associated credit even though I informed them that I felt I did not require the cover. Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made. I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded with eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint. Yours faithfully, xxxxxxxx So i sent them this letter on the 30th Aug, giving them 8 weeks to conclude the matter. I got the letter template from MSE.
