  1. Please listen to DX and FTM Dave, you are falling for a DCA's fake authority where they have none. It's all just scare tactics and they have no more power than my cat (I haven't got a cat) to extort money from you.
  2. Standing charge is for rental of on site equipment and service supply infrastructure by the supplier so no, you can't claim that back. You could cease supply altogether but if you need to guard against frozen pipes etc while the property is empty that could be a problem.
  3. I believe you are correct abut commercial cctv, it has to be produced if you request it, unlike domestic cctv, however, if you try the strong arm approach the shop will probably go down the route of 'data is not stored longer than 48 hours' and you'll get nothing. so try asking nicely first.
  4. Contact Moneybarn, give them the timeline and attempted repairs timeline and tell them their car is not fit for purpose and you need them to sort it out, let us know what response you get.
  5. I wouldn't waste the effort with CMS. I would go down the route of ensuring the children are registered as his next of kin so they have a claim on his estate should anything happen to him.
  6. They'll know if you've moved or unplugged the cameras straight away. I'd suggest putting them back and calling Plod, it's a serious breach of privacy.
  7. I'd get your stuff out of there before the landlord changes the locks and holds it to ransom.
  8. Change to a tariff where you pay for what you've used by BACS or cheque on production of their quarterly invoice and save a little every month towards it. Why do you need them to save the money for you? Madness!
  9. Send them a letter with one last month's fees and advise them that's all they are getting as you have officially notified them you wish to cease membership. Get free proof of delivery from the Post Office. Ignore everything else they stamp their feet about.
  10. Telling them where you live does not restart the statute barred clock.
  11. Gym debts don't appear on credit scores, they are entitled to your last month membership and notice that you no longer want to be a member, that's all.
  12. Just as an aside - never buy a Beko anything, cheap rubbish.
  13. Ignore everything from DCBL, they are paper tigers in these cases. Have you got anything headed Letter Before Action? We need to know why you didn't receive the NTK, is your car logbook (V5) registered at your current address? In the meantime do not contact the Parking Company or DCBL at all.
  14. NTK out of time by receiving date and leaving time within the grace period set by their own rules. This one would be amusing in court, doubt it will go anywhere, ignore everything (but keep it for reference) except a letter before claim then send a snotty letter.
  15. Don't panic and don't contact Jacobs (yet, if at all), wait for the experts to advise you and remember there is no right of entry for Council Tax debts so the DCA is as powerless as a newborn kitten (but less cute).
  16. I'm pretty sure you are within the period to reject the care but wait for others to come along who know more. You may need to advise the Finance Co that you are formally rejecting the car and the agreement is to be cancelled. Did you pay a deposit and if so how?
  17. I believe the sale of medical care goods policy prevents them exchanging any medical care items as once the leave the store they cannot be put back on the shelf even if unopened and rightly so. If the Pharmacist made the recommendation for the wipes then you would be best to use them as they are trained to dispense the best solution for your care.
  18. I have used Appliances Direct for a number of white goods and a mobile phone and I have found them to be excellent. When I had an issue with a tumble dryer they replaced it once with the same model and when that failed with the same fault they replaced it with a different make/model of higher value at their cost. I recommend them highly, especially compared to Appliances On Line - are you sure it wasn't them you had trouble with?
  19. They discontinued because the debt's unenforceable for some reason, that's also why they're offering you discount to 'pay up' on a debt they can't enforce. As DX said, ignore them.
  20. Stop worrying, there is very little the DCA can or will do, it's all empty threats. I expect the advice will be to send them a CCA request but wait for the experts to respond.
  21. Tell your supplier you'll be going elsewhere if they don't sort a more reliable delivery method?
  22. DO NOT engage with the DCA on this at all, they are powerless and can do nothing. Complete the info DX asked for and do nothing until advised!
  23. Hang on, hate to drop a spanner in the works but you said it's SORN? That means it will generate an automatic fine if it's seen on ANPR on a public road and you can't tax it without a valid MOT. Food for thought?
