I was obviously much worse than I thought. Believe me I remember the walk back to the hotel! I had a curry with Morgan so I remember him. I think I'll go and hide in a corner to get over the humiliation.

Me Bill?

Hiya LL !! No - although you do indeed have my respect. As a fellow "Will" - I nevertheless appreciate your eloquence.

The Michael C to which I referred was Mcuth - the subject of much debate, it would appear, and whose status amongst those there I very much envy !!

I, too, signed the petition, mate. And you can't use "Nom de Plume's" or pink hats !!

There you and I are - for all the world to decipher !!

It's been a blast just hearing about that gig fom you guys. Next time, I just gotta get my outfit cleaned & ready.

Vital spark v Lloyds Tsb

2nd November 2006: 1st letter, requesting back statements, hand delivered to lloyds TSB: got receipt.

I have received the information on my accounts going back 6 (six) years but not going back to the begining of my hsitory with the bank, as I requested.

Think I'd best send a letter suggesting they send the lot and informing them that I have already paid the £10 for such information.

Mairi's awaiting my details so that she can help me work out the interest due on the charges taken.

Personal: growing and changing while ever remaining the same. Get to know me and tell me what I'm like coz I can't figure me out.

Don't tell me this rally gave rise to blossoming romantic liasons. Seems that quite a few of you really hit it off with others from the site.

There you go: a "Pairing Off" thread may soon be born.;)

Of course you were. ;)

I wouldn't for a minute suggest that there was any untoward behaviour. Just an old lady seeing many most complimentary statements and thinking how much many of you come across as being suited.

As I sit safe in my cell (not prison) enjoying the romance around too afraid to try it again for myself, pray allow me to romanticise:  only to hand holding stage though: YEWK!

Ah chivalry! It is definitely still around but mostly in hiding rearing it's bonnie head, on occasion, to restore faith and cheer us on our way. :p:)

Ah well, M_Cuth, as long a it's not uncouth, who cares.

Oh I dunno, uncouth might be more accurate ;)

I take slight umbrage at your horror at being suspected of having a Scottish connection, tho. Remember, you were on the right side of the border at one time.

Nah, no offence implied - I like Scottish people, always had a great laugh when I've been up there. I guess it's not so much horror as that I'm proud of being on the right side of the border now :D

You could always change your Forum name to "Shiny_Knees" OR: "Darkpatch" or "Squelch" LOL

ROTFL!

As an ex-Londoner - neither Lancastrian nor Yorkist - I used to hold the view:-

Born & bred.

Strong in th' arm,

Weak in th' 'ead.

Not far off t'mark ;)

Gawd bless ya guv'nor - much appreciated :)

Brolly's completely intact - I'm amazed. I've lost all sorts of things thanks to alcohol, but it appears that I made it home completely intact (aside from my wallet being emptier than it was, of course)

PS - Have the ladies really not puzzled you out, yet ?

Umm, not quite sure what you meant with this one mate - but suffice to say, I'm young, free, single & straight :D

Cheers

Michael

Well, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading the exploits of all those fortunate enough to get to London on Friday. It’s as if I’ve had my nose pressed to the window, looking enviously at the merriment within. I think the contributions from VS and Bill-K reflect that feeling. We wish we had been there.

Congratulations to all of you who attended, on your resolve and commitment to the cause. It doesn’t matter if the numbers were perhaps less than some of you had hoped for. What’s important is that it happened, it was reported and the OFT know about it.

I now feel duty-bound to back up your protest by writing to the OFT. They need to know there are many more of us who are angry with their complacency. I don’t agree with the negative view expressed that it is all a waste of time. Let’s keep chipping away at the edifice.

The comments of the bank spokesman that we should be thankful because on the continent if you go overdrawn your commiting a criminal offence beggars belief.

Don't they realise that by trying to justify their actions in this way they are by implication admitting that their charges ARE a penalty or fine imposed by them without any authority or due proccess.

Yes, indeedy, Elsinore. I think the OFT effectively barricading themselves in, in the face of a small & peaceful demonstration effectively reinforced the point of the demo. And the apparently massive police presence showed that somebody was scared of you lot !! Well done, indeed.

Oh, I believe there are some pics posted up, aren't there ?

Anybody help me find them. I notice Meagain & BW were comparing cameras earlier, so I'll look there, maybe.

.

As well as stretches credibility.

In fact, it's total BS. In France, (can't speak for the rest of Europe), if you are o/drawn, it's because your bank let it happen. Therefore, they would be your accomplices in the fact, if it were true.

Technically, bouncing cheques is committing a criminal offence, but unless you go on a cheque writing rampage for 10's of thousands, the police will no more go after you there than they do here. It is in fact exactly the same here, if you are writing cheques without intention of having these met by the bank is committing fraud, and as much of an offence here than elsewhere.

Either way, the guy was talking poppycocks. (There's a surprise!)

Agreed BW It's obtaining goods or services by deception which I think is pretty much illegal everywhere............unless of course you happen to be a money lender

I think you got my point that the guy was claiming the right to punish the customer so admitting their charges ARE a penalty

Also very sorry to not be there looks like a good time was had by all if the photo's are anything to go by.

If BF can stand the bar bill again whens the next one?

Veering off a bit. Meagain earlier mentioned a problem playing the 5 News article. For those that want to watch the sterling performances of celebs Seminole & BF ad infinitum, the video clip is a ".wmv" file about 9MB in size, and is dumped in the temporary internet files folder.

If you copy it from there into your destination folder, you should be able to play it with your Windows Media Player. It's easier to find if you empty your TIF folder first, then load up and play the 5 news online link. The file you're looking for is "5W92BANKCHARGES.wmv"

And, yes - that IS how I get my free porn !!

The main reason I have trouble with Windows Media files is that I'm not running Windows. Something to do with Microsoft wanting to "protect" their media interests. ;)

There's probably a compatible filter kicking around somewhere. I can always lug it over to the Windows PCs at the radio station before doing my quiz show tonight.

Sorry, Meagain - wasn't sure what the problem was. This was a way of saving the file to HDD for when the online page eventually gets dropped. You might be able to play it with Nero "Showtime" if you have that. But you've probably got a better idea of what to do than I have.
