Borrowing to a degree is important but borrowing at 69%? I hope your not justifying that? If so then I'll be shocked. However I would never argue that being treated badly is acceptable.

 

My points are valid. Want proof? Look at the economy! That is the result of greed from both lenders & borrowers. Glad they have scrapped 110% - even 125% morgages. Don't you think that's obscene? From both parties?

 

If people only borrowed what they could afford (I accept there are exceptional circumstances btw) then companies like welcome & provident wouldn't exist.

 

I may have inferred incorrectly that some of you aren't taking responsability and for that I'm sorry but 69% loans? And to sign that dotted line? It takes 2 parties to enter a contract and both parties can funk it up. It seems in the case it's welcomes fault 100% without exception.

 

The OP wrote with sarcasm but he has a point many people have borrowed through greed and now they suffering the consequences.

 

I can't possibly win this debate as I have little back up and I have no desire to offend anyone as were all in the boat. I just don't think we can agree that borrowing at 69% does the world any favours so I say roll on the days when you only bought what you could afford

Ahh leelakey, the voice of a dissatisfied youth. I guess your brain has somehow decided that unless everyone agrees with you then they MUST be a staff member of welcome finance

 

I actually work as a resource planner for RAC auto windscreens (now sold by Aviva and bought by a german parent company re-branded as 'auto windscreens')

 

If that's the best insults you've got then I suggest you sharpen your wit by watching Brass Eye. I would even list my work tel no but what do I have to prove to a dude like you? Jog on

Sorry for the delay in replying, the bloke just turned up to regas my air con; that is the air con on MY car that I bought for CASH after Welcome ILLEGALLY repossessed my car. My issue with Welcome was NEVER about the money it was ALWAYS about the principle. I found a car that I wanted in 2006 at a very cheap price, it just so happened it was in a garage that was "in bed with" Welcome Finance had an underhanded, secret commission based bias relationship with them which, incidentally I didn't know at the time. So I didn't choose to have my finance with them, I chose a very reasonably priced car that I could easily afford to have on finance. I was also happy to have the insurances, (even though I was told they were compulsory), to protect me. Only they didn't protect me at all!!! Hence the beginning of my complaints that got totally ignored and eventually resulted in the illegal repossession of my car after I had been paying for almost 4 years.

 

You say you have no intention to offend people?? Well coming on to a Welcome Finance forum and lumping together everybody who took finance with Welcome as irresponsible, greedy and unable to manage their own finances is going to have little other effect than to offend!

No I bloody well don't!! Who do you think I am?? Judge and jury of lenders and borrowers??

Equally, if Welcome choose to offer 69% loans and people choose to accept then that is their personal choice. We have no right to admonish people for the choices they make, to each his own.

 

You really believe the recession is solely the result of 110% and 125% mortgages?? As I said, to each his own, and if that is your opinion then you are entitled to it. I know somebody who had a 125% mortgage and they found it a very reasonable way to pay off expensive credit at a much lower rate, they have never missed a payment. I'm sure banks using tax payers money from bail outs to pay themselves millions of pounds in bonuses didn't contribute at all! But that's just my opinion, which I am entitled to.

 

But I hardly think you came on here to criticise Welcome's APR and the consumers who accept it??!

If you did then you might as well have come on saying you disagree with men wearing socks with sandals! The point is, you are not the judge and jury of the financial sector nor the actions of the people in it! Do you live in a glass house by any chance?

 

I don't think you'll find any threads called "I took out finance with WF at an extortionate APR and now I want to complain about it."

I think you may have missed the point of this forum. For the purpose of clarity; this forum is where people who have been wronged by Welcome can come to get help with their situations from others in the same position. Therefore it's highly unlikely to represent a fair consensus of Welcome customers!

I absolutely agree! Many people have borrowed through greed and are now suffering, but you won't find any of those people here. Refer to my paragraph above!!

 

I was VERY offended at your comment that having children is a "luxury"!! Having children is how the human race survives! If people don't have children then what do you think will happen to the economy you are already so appalled by in the future??? Are you suggesting that only rich people should be allowed to have children??? Having a child is every woman's human right devoid of prejudice and judgment NOT a flaming luxury reserved the most well off!!

 

And you had no intention of offending anyone?? Well then you should think more carefully before you make flippant comments like that! You are perfectly entitled to your opinions, but don't think you will be afforded the "luxury" of not offendeding people!

Now there's a co-incidence if ever there was one! I've got my car insurance with Aviva and I just had Auto Windscreens out this morning to replace my cracked windscreen! So us greedy, irresponsible people with the "luxury" of owning a car have just contributed to your wages!!

"Name calling"??? Where did you get that from?? Nobody called you anything!! You're the only one being disgruntled because people don't agree with you! All the posts here have been in the manner of having a "discussion", but you clearly have no intention of discussing anything as you've got your opinion and regardless of how many times others are putting forward their answers to the issues you raise, you just plain don't want to listen.

 

There are no "vile" posts, (apart from the ones you've made), only well informed arguments in response to your provocative and offensive allegations.

 

As you have failed to address any of the issues raised by others and responded to allegations that were never even made; firstly, you are no better than Welcome and secondly, before you question other peoples' intelligence I suggest you question your own. Your spelling and grammar is atrocious to the point it's practically illegible and your inabilty to digest and comprehend the points people are making speaks volumes.

 

You are the only one being childish on this thread, resorting to insults, name calling and a lack of comprehension is not only a sign of diminished intelligence but also a deficiency in reasoned debating skills and humanity.

 

I'm not going to justify your comment about children with a response; needless to say we are all blessed that you haven't procreated and further infiltrated your childrens' minds with prejudiced, judgmental and ill informed attitudes.

 

Incidentally, my inspiration is my children and I theirs.

 

As for your wish for Welcome to screw us over; they've been doing that for years anyway, hence the need for this forum!

I think I am sick in the head, I have some kind of warped sense of humour (well I know I have )

 

What idiot sends an e mail to a solicitors firm, insulting them, and threatening legal action, potentially opening a can of worms, and leaving me and my family, and our home, wide open to a heap of trouble, court costs, and hassle for the next few months, but cant help but grin like a Cheshire cat once I had hit the send button on the email

 

Its madness, but it feels good to fight back !

In all honesty I feel you got what you came looking for, you deliberately posted to get a reaction you just werent prepared for how strongly people feel about this subject as for bringing children into the equation we will be the judge of if we can afford them. Im very glad you dont have any as your attitude is appalling! As for intelligence, its nice to see you are so much more highly educated than the rest of us that you didnt have the sense to not bother with your ridiculous accusations and comments. There is something to be said for common sense, educational intelligence can be taught!

well well look what happened to the little thread , it went all nasty! suprise! well i tried to practie spelling for you so i signed on twice this week, well i sign on but i do a bit fiddle work now and then, the suns been great this week so i been sittn on my front doorstep with my cider chattn to my fellow friends also sitting on there front doorsteps, in our slippers , smoking a bit fag. anyhoo some idiots came round for money but i pretended i wasnt me ha ha ha guess ill get more charges then but so! il tell FOS or someone.yes i hope welscum(good name bet took ages to think of that) get redundant although i heard they have and they gt thousands :-( bet they get loads of stuff from the shoplifters with that. i just got a 100inch tv for my sitting room it looks great, i havent got money for bills though. oh and i got the kids a massive trampoline, hope them welscum collectors dont use it to bounce on to look through my top windows n see me hiding behind my bed. anyway im off for my weekly wash now then to watch jeremy kyle.ta-rah
