Mind you, Johnson must be happy as more people seem to be saying 'Jesus, we thought Johnson was bad, but even The Liar was better than this' .. forgetting that all this corruption, deceit and incompetence expanded under him, and that Truss is really just a Johnson number 2

-BUT that of course ISN'T the binary choice we should be making,

which is: Jesus we need to throw these 'unPopulist Tory lying corrupt **** out of power for at least a generation.

and the Truss supporters largely flip back to Johnson

look on the bright side,

Sunak is a right wing thatcherite, Mordaunt isnt much better

Johnson is a lying piece of crap who if re-elected should be out again by Christmas - but as he should have been barred from public office for multiple reasons long before now, i doubt that.

Yep, thats the bright side

... oh, and as frost has come out for Sunak ..

.. so lets hope Johnson :-(

both Sunak and mordaunt are hard brexiters, profit (for the few) over climate and hard right singapore on Thames rights/regs bonfire, tax the poor to enrich the rich candidates

Johnson is an opportunist (and hopefully going to soon reap the whirlwind of his abuses of office) and just lies to everyone

NONE are tory or populist unity options

Johnson actually seems the lower risk to the nation

Well, the TI.UK (tempory illusion of a united Kingdom) is looking at a choice of

1. Being slowly burnt alive (Johnson) but maybe a VERY faint possibility of getting a last minute reprieve from Harriet Harman

2. Red hot poker to the sphincter before being burnt alive (Mordaunt)

3. Being told you will get a lumpy ice cream, but multiple areas (inc genitals and sphincter) gets a red hot poker and then you get burnt alive (Sunak)

Make no mistake,

Sunak and Mordaunt are hard right singapore on thames riches for the rich and poorhouse for the poor

- just more competent and with less of the deluded 'you might get a bit of their moisture trickling down on you' lie of Truss

johnson out as the party of required pleb voter ID doesn't require voter ID for choosing their leader and PM

The Conservative Party say voter identification is necessary to tackle voter fraud. But it doesn't apply in their own leadership election.

Haha, TJ.

If someone is sanctioned by the privileges committee, can they stand for office again? I assume they can if the voters will elect them because it isn't a criminal offence.

ETA: I found this from the committee. It looks as if it's up to the voters of Uxbridge if he's suspended for more than 10 days, or voters in another consituency if he goes to a safer one.

Yes, a recall, although no doubt the Torys would try anything to avoid it.

I see Mordaunt is trying to get the johnsonites on board

Mordaunt: 'Johnson put country before party and party before self

Reality:  Johnson The Liar put himself before anything

Sunak: Johnson got Brexit done and rolled out the vaccine

Reality: Johnson The Liar Lied about Brexit to get a vote, and rolled out the vaccine no matter the cost to he public in profiting VIPals at 10x the cost of any other country doing the same

There should be enquiries about how much was spent on Covid, especially VIP contracts and Test and Trace. Also about Truss and Kwarteng, their crazy economic ideas and their lack of consultation with people who actually understand the financial system.

And the think tanks in Tufton Street and Lord North Street and their input.

36 against !! let alone 'consistantly

What utter garbage

Just send a whip and a big woman and they are crying all the way to where they are dragged ... and loving it.

- as we saw on the last fracking vote

Now that was worthy of a carry on script

astounding what some of these papers are wrapping up/embedding  in their articles

That should have been part of the post above

The example embedded from Uncs link was

"With a working majority of 71, the new Tory leader could be brought down by a hardcore of just 36 right-wing rebels if they decided to consistently vote with Labour and block the Government’s ability to legislate."

"36 against !! let alone 'consistantly

What utter garbage (stopped by being an outright lie ONLY by being preceded by 'could' and 'if' carefully added)

to which - the carry on script analogy

Just send a whip and a big woman and they are crying all the way to where they are dragged ... and loving it.

- as we saw on the last fracking vote"

aka The populists have already gotten rid on the majority of real Tories who would - as repeatedly demonstrated.

There are so many articles which contain some 'arguable' or even good content embedded with utter bo**ocks apparently in attempts to wheedle it into peoples minds as a 'reasonable' position by 'association.

Unc seems finds quite of few examples of these - mind you that might just be because he commonly links mail, express or  telegraph articles.

These tactics aren't exclusive to right wing press, but the right wing press seems to have (seemingly justified) lower regard for their readers and seems to be more prepared to try and embed things that are patently false or at least VERY misdirecting/misleading.

I tend to view any article that contains a significant amount of such 'misdirection (or 'honest' incompetence as they might argue like their politicians) as a whole as unworthy of wiping ones bottom with, and a repeated user of such articles as little or less worth.

... Although they are of course entitled to even such cretinous (or worse) opinion.
