Confused! Yesterday said "I am a fighter and not a quitter"

Tories need someone from the One Nation side of the party, and I think the best option they have is Tom Tugenhat.

The good news is that the right wing of the Tory party is unlikely to be in control of their party.

Either she actually said 'I'm a fraud, a failure and a quitter', or it was just another lie followed by another about turn

As the next PM is to be chosen by the PPP (Parliamentary Populist Party (who are demonstrably easily herded)  which is largely in the thrall of the ERG, and will be chosen by even fewer people than last time ..

what makes you think that Unc?

We supposedly live in a democracy,

Yet the Tories are again electing a new head, with neither person or policies having a mandate voted on by the electorate

Why do they not go to the electorate in our democracy?

Because they know they will be voted out.

They perhaps think that Johnson has a better excuse than any other to NOT go to the electorate

Many of them may also think that if Johnson does get it and go to the country, they wont lose so bad, and may not lose at all

and both the party and Johnson will see that as a win

I think Mordaunt has got to be front runner, but I know little about the poop partys current states of mindlessness

Not that I think any are fit, none.

Hunt has made Sunak redundant, bonkers as that sounds, and Sunak is apparently hated by the Johnson side

- Mordaunt isn't

and she gets a 110k+ annuity at the expense of the UK taxpayer for her couple of weeks trashing the UK economy

Wonder if she will also have a pink list to send to the lords?

So by time - probably even beats the epic PPE and VIPals farces

Something for her to do with her taxpayer funded free time. I dont thing the talk circuit will want to hear her

Is that the £115k allowance for office and staff expenses due to being an ex-PM? That isn't paid in advance and anything claimed has to be justified.

She also gets a pension which seems to be based on half her earnings at the time she leaves office, AIUI.

Keir Starmer doesn't think she should claim allowances like that for such a short time in the job and I agree with him.

Wonder if Tory party members include many who don't really care about public opinion and would not have been worried by the concerns raised about Truss ?

This parody video from 2 months ago is one of many found online, where they predicted accurately some of the issues.
