My friend has an LPG tank with Calor Gas. He had a gas leak on 24th June, confirmed by a Calor Gas engineer. Being as he has a 'Homecare' agreement with British Gas, he got them to come out the next day, since then they have failed to find the leak and he has been without gas (hot water, electric cooker disconnected too) since.
Is there a rule of thumb re compensation for the failure to find the leak, do you think?

Their brochure shows the suppliers equipment / pipes are not included. So if the leak is between the tank and the intake it’s out with the contract.
is it an LPG tank buried in the garden?  Ours it rented from the company we get gas from, but even then there are strict rules in place should it fail.
