  1. Thank you for that. No, I do not believe that they can. P.S. Interestingly, Amazon have now got involved and have set the seller, AO, an ultimatum of repair or refund. Didn't expect that!! I will update you....
  2. Hello all. I need to update another thread I have running but in the meantime, I must post this: -March 2023 Purchased new Samsung washing machine -Last week it developed a leak where the seal has a chunk missing -AO, who sold it via Amazon, are only offering £60 towards the £150 cost of repair (but in their early responses they stated that 'You are in luck, it is still under warranty with Samsung so they will repair it for you'. -Samsung say that being as it is physical damage, the warranty is invalid -A quick Google seems to suggest that this is a big problem with Samsung washing machines -Amazon say 'You are not eligible to request a refund Sorry, this order is not eligible for a refund under the A-to-z Guarantee because the order is too old. What do you suggest is the best course of action I take, please?
  3. Hey all. Remember last time I posted about these? Their ticket machine was out of order and yet they still sent me a letter trying to get me to pay a charge of £100? Well this time, when I went back there on 4th Aug, I was extra vigilant when I paid for my ticket (took a pic of the machine saying I had paid) and guess what? Today I receive a letter saying my contravention was an 'overstay'?? God I hate these people!!! Do I question them? Ignore?
  4. Hi all. I will wait for any further correspondence from them and let you know what they say.....
  5. Thank you for that! No personalised plate, just the standard. I think what annoys me more is that this may have happened to loads of people that day....or longer!!!
  6. Oooops! Didn't think of that. Can't edit it....can mod delete, please? (Thought posting what is also on a public site would be OK?)
  7. Well now this has made my evening!! What an email!!! YES, I will do that as well as getting the shopping centre involved. Great stuff! P.S. Re the emails - I simply pressed -send again' so didn't alter any of it. I am very tempted to get hold him him though....just to hear the excuse!! Thanks, guys!!!
  8. Have you contacted the shopping centre and informed them of the issue you had, and for them to cancel the invoice? Only just seen this - brilliant idea. Thank you all. I will update you!!!

  10. Hi all. Last week I tried about five times to enter my reg in to the machine to pay my parking in a multi story carpark and it wouldn't recognise the reg - I tried all the combinations that I could zero instead of 'O', etc) . I vowed to look at doing it manually when I drove out but there were no people, it was all automated. Today I received my £60 charge- I was going to phone them and explain but seem to recall hearing on here that you should post on here before contacting them? Please can anyone advise is common sense will win the day here? They will surely be CCTV and perhaps records of my repeated attempts to pay?
  11. Wow. They are legally obliged to complete those repairs mate, doesn't matter whether it was outside of the two years, so long as they were reported. You should have took them to the small claims court for the small repairs!
  12. Hello all. We moved in to our new build in Aug 2020 and did utilise the two year period that you have to get the builders to make good the various issues that needed addressing in that time. I have two questions: 1. There is a stain on the carpet outside of upstairs ensuite. I have looked in the shower cubicle and can see that there is a gap where the sealant has cracked and degraded so I assume that the stain on the carpet the other side of the wall is down to that. Is the builder liable for this in any way? 2. Is it true that, essentially, once that two year period is over, one can't hold the builder to anything that has not been reported in that time?
  13. Incidentally, I originally received an emailed reply to my original claim stating the same in March 2021 which I assumed was the end of the line, so I haven't 'done zilch' for three years. Do you see my point?
  14. I see. I have mitigating circumstances (head injury) that I am willing to pursue as my reason.
  15. No but I have had children. We all have different thresholds, you know. Forgive me but I was going on your post #58 where you wrote 'they wrote back ASSUMING you were trying to reclaim the COMMISSION welcome got for selling you the PPI INS on behalf of AVIVA', I took from this that you knew AVIVA were the underwriters. So, I need to go and research who were the underwriters?
  16. I did. I made the complaint before the deadline?
  17. Thank you for opening again! I have some time off lately and have just chased this up with Aviva again. They maintained that they were not the underwriters at that time and weren't until 2000. I explained, as DX stated in the thread, that they are wrongly assuming I am trying to reclaim the hidden commission they got paid for selling the PPI under a Plevin Claim. but I am not ...I'm reclaiming the monthly PPI portion of my payments made to Welcome that I paid under the agreement that they paid their insurance underwrites that eventually became part of Aviva. The actual email received was: Thank you for speaking with me today. As discussed, I can confirm Aviva is not the correct business to investigate your complaint. This is because neither Aviva nor any Aviva subsidiary company were the underwriter of Welcome Finance PPI at the date your policy was sold. I do not have details of the underwriter, but this information will be available from your policy document or your finance agreement. In conclusion, you will need to redirect your enquiry to the appropriate underwriter in the first instance. They will then investigate your concerns and issue you with their final decision. Is there any other action I can take now, please?
  18. Thanks for this, dx100uk. If you get a sec, please could you check your DMs, I wondered if you could open my other thread....
  19. Thanks for this. As my brother stated in his complaint, he has had serious health issues for the last 10 years (and I do mean serious) and these have impacted his mental health (depression, etc) so bank statements have been ignored. I am not saying this is 'right' but stating what his line was on this. Recently, his health and mental health have increased and there is almost light on the horizon. I was a little surprised that Halifax didn't acknowledge this.
  20. Here you are. Is it me or are Reward Accounts packaged accounts? (I will add that he told them the truth that he didn't realise he was paying the fees, cited his mental health issues, and also stated that even if he had, the insurances were never appropriate for him then or now) 1-3.pdf
  21. One account (the only one he complained about) this year! I find their response mystifying. Let me post the letters shortly, perhaps this will help.....
