Car finance 14 day cancellation with part ex

Sadly not true, the finance company or the dealer will chase you for it. Which is why they\you are not supposed to do it............. H -
Car finance 14 day cancellation with part ex
Hammy1962 replied to Kr7915's topic in Vehicle retailers and manufacturers
A very good example of why the selling dealer should not have bumped up the finance to cover the settlement figure on the trade-in. Given enough time to think about this, it might even have been illegal H -

Well, I have it and turned on or off it doesn't seem to make a blind bit of difference. Just turn off the ignition at lights and hope it stats again! H -

For what reason do you want it? Or are you just dissatisfied that they said it had it and it hasn't? H -

Frankly, Start-Stop is so annoying it's a bonus that you find you haven't got it. The effect on fuel consumption is negligible unless you wear sandals and vote Liberal. Most people with it try and and turn it off. Think yourself lucky. Tell us the Model and Engine and we can tell you if you should have it or not but personally I wouldn't bother, enjoy your car. Or............................... PM me the 17 digit VIN or Reg Number. (The Mods hate me offering this but never mind) H -
Like i said. Sad H

I find it extraordinarily sad that someone can express such bitterness to someone you have never met. It was, after all, only a car. H

After a holiday in London I would be very upset if the only present I got came from Primark ! H

However much you love or loathe the man, his business model was a roaring success which made him the first 'Motor Trade Billionaire' Arnold Clark - the man, has not been particularly active in the business which carries his name in recent years. He has a 2nd tier of senior management so I would expect nothing much will change. Mr Clark has a family which will be grieving at this time so we all should show some respect. RIP H

Oh crikey, how long have you got? As an example, a poster on here states 'I took my Fiesta to Ford because the widget no longer bleeps' The fact is they took it to a Ford Franchised Dealer who happens to have sold that car or similar ones. Your friend AC (RIP) is a Main Dealer for many marques, AC do not manufacture any cars, ie Citroen. In simple terms, once a vehicle has left the factory they do not have any further responsibility for that vehicle. I've explained before on here, and to you, that the Warranty pot is filled and topped up with a small percentage of the vehicles purchase price. The responsibility for completing repairs under warranty lies with the manufacturers Dealers who charge the manufacturer when they repair a vehicle under warranty. The manufacturer gives the warranty, the dealers implement and administer it. The balance of a warranty is just that, if a vehicle has a three year warranty and it is sold at two years then it still has one years manufacturers warranty to go. In reality it is much more complicated than the above but it's 11.15pm and i'm tired. H

Advice insufficient tyre tread?
Hammy1962 replied to onestressedwoman's topic in Speeding and Motoring Offences
Only my thoughts (probably get deleted anyway) and I'm not trying to judge here, but, rather than effectively trying to 'get your daughter off' driving with a defective tyre, wouldn't your energy be better spent advising said daughter of the dangers of driving with a defective tyre and maybe get the garage to show her how to check her own tyres so as to avoid a potential accident. http://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/know-how/checking-tyre-tread/ H- 18 replies

It's not abuse, its fact. So then, again, just to clarify, Toyota didn't rip you off, they are a manufacturer. You went to a Toyota Dealer, who, apart from a paper agreement, has little to do with Toyota. There are other Toyota Dealers. If you were not happy with one, change, just as you would do with the local shoe repairer. Who was the Dealer? Posters on here have always had difficulty separating manufacturers from dealers, its really is not hard to understand. H

Aye, same old, same old........................... Ford wouldn't say that to a 'customer''. Ford manufacture vehicles. Ford Dealers interface with customers. Post your friends experience, what was the 2K for? Which Dealer etc. I'm sure we can help your friend. H

The caliper does not 'swing', it floats. Hydraulic PAS is so yesterday, the future is EPAS. H
