Hi I am in the process of claiming CTB. They are driving me mad just wondered lol they asked me for audited accounts I wish we qualified for ! However my husbands accountant is completing last years accounts in August in line with VAT bill. They can see we are in receipt of benefit and need payslips no problem - however they have asked for business statements too ? Why would I need to produce these ? can I redact any of it (not that I can think of a reason why to redact) ? Hate having to talk to the local authority as they make me feel like I have done something wrong. Like I provided all info first requested then the tell me that I have not sent it even though it was sent early .. apparently I sent it too the council tax department (this is council tax) they told me I should have sent it to housing benefit ... really could they not have passed it to a colleague in house what has happened to administration ?

mobility how far can you walk is still on the form in that section They have 45 letters of supporting information already I need to fill in my surgeries during the last 3 years why does this form send me into panic every time it comes I mean I have a degenerative disease and they were the ones who originally signed me off WHEN I was 33 for 10 years. I'm going to bite the bullet I think and fill it in mostly with NO and if the spit it back at me I will do a long winded detail of how my disability effects me ! DX Shoosmiths conduct with other traders has been underhand, sent court docs to wrong addresses and won claims by default . It's not only failed advertising CAT are re directing companies enquiries to other traders, they have removed all direct contact details, you don't have to have any insurances to advertise with them anymore. Anyone can leave reviews even if you have never done work for them this list goes on and on.

The letter from Shoosmiths is addressed to My husbands name followed by T/A I have to get something over to them tonight to delay this as I am having a hip replacement tomorrow and will not be able to deal with this further for a couple of weeks or more

fkofilee It would be eeerrrm directed at the company I think ? As advertising was for a business They are jokers they really are! The email address for correspondance is checkatrade@shoosmiths.co.uk so they have a whole department that are trying to take advantage of traders

Mantis Is there a way us traders can take reverse action against CAT as there are so many of us CAT is doing this to?

Hi all My husband has an issue with Checkatrade. Since September 21 we have been sending emails (8) and calling them to inform them that we would be cancelling our direct debit as their business model is nothing like what we were sold. We never signed any agreement with CAT. We then were told that we were on auto renew which we never signed up for! So in January I called & emailed them again and said enough is enough I am cancelling DD. Again no response. Once DD cancelled I then get emails demanding money! I again spoke with them and emailed them no response. A member of their team called on Friday of last week and said they would call back on Monday which is today, however we have just received a letter from Shoosmiths solicitors who have been past the so called debt. We are not the only one that are having this issue with CAT ... I want to defend this claim as it is total nonsence has anyone had any dealings with Shoosmiths any advice where to go from here?

Would it not have a claim form in bundle? Also I'm a little confused because it says her insurance have paid her out but she is claiming the money again? Either way the court should have issued documents also no? So I'm a little dim hey won't have claim form until which time someone responds to say they are going to defend the claim

DX / ANDY I was just about to email both insurance and solicitor but there are missing pages from this claim form the summons page the log in details and the place of hearing and date is missing ! The online system says there is no such case number? This is blarney isn't it ? Surely this in itself is illegal? If this was a summons then the court would have had to serve it wouldn't they ? When I have to do a money claim online to recoup my sons money after being sold a dud car they had to send it and I nearly had to pay twice as the first time i put the address down as 296A when it was meant to be 296B
