  1. Sorry BF, fully floatimg calipers are the norm now. You are getting old. H
  2. Can you post the photo's on here. I explained what PDR was in a previous post. In my experience, after an explanation an ACRONYM is OK. Anyway, I seem to be the only one who thinks this is a good idea. It still is, other party happy their cars not been painted, or door replaced many benefits. Never mind. H
  3. Did anyone get any pictures of the dent? Have you seen them. PDR is best for the other party as no insurance claim and they keep the origional finish of their car. Best for you as no hassle. Additionally, no chance of other party gaining an advantage. I can't see a head butt causing enough damage to warrant a door skin, never mind a door regardless of the sensor situation. Win-Win H
  4. I know it was your head but that wouldn't leave much of a dent, even if it was a large area dent a good paintless dent removal person could repair it as good as new if the paint surface is not broken. Much more preferable to altering the original paint surface. £60-£100 just give him the cash when it's done. H
  5. I've said it before but it's worth another mention, manufacturers rarely terminate dealers. More often than not dealers give up franchises due to unrealistic sales targets. I suspect this was the case with Volvo and Honda. H
  6. But on the flip side. http://www.am-online.com/news/dealer-news/2017/02/20/arnold-clark-dealership-wins-volkswagen-top-award AC win VW award. H
  7. There is a big trust problem between Nissan and its dealerships. No there isn't! Anecdotally Nissan disallow a large amount of warranty claims believing the dealers are claiming for new parts instead of repairing existing ones. Do they? What information do you have to support this claim? H
  8. OMG, a sensible answer on a thread about Drive Belts. I must be dreaming. If a part fails because of a manufacturing defect within the warranty period then its generally covered. If it does not, it isn't. H
  9. Its a Transmission Control Module. And a Transmission Oil Pump, not a fuel pump. H
  10. If the van was locked, how did the thief get in and steal it? Do you still have all the sets of keys or were they in the van? Two questions the insurance may ask. H
  11. It's quite a worry for some that one can drive 25% around the M25 and not notice what speed one was going or if the signage indicated differently. What else did you miss? H
  12. Maybe its a firm of solicitors tring to contact you to give you a massive inheritance from a long lost relative. Answer one, you can aleays ring off its if not. H
  13. Ohh, that touched a nerve. H
  14. Do you not think your MP has better things to do than pander to your Customer Service gripes. H
  15. Forget Skoda Assist, get the repairing Dealer to give you one of their courtesy cars.
  16. Pretty much use P2Go exclusively for eBay etc. Never had a problem. Remember they are just a web front end aggregator for all the usual courier companies. They are paid on commission and site pass throughs. Your beef should be with the courier who accepted the order. H
  17. I don't think a Code Reader will help. The sound of nails gives it away. Not going to get into the 'Main Dealer or not' argument but a 'Mobile Independent BMW Specialist' might take three hours @ £34 an hour to diagnose what a Main Dealer will do in an hour. Do the math. H
  18. BMW, Independent, Specialist, and Mobile should never be used in the same paragraph........................ H
  19. Well pardon me for asking, I was trying to ascertain exactly what the problem is so I could offer a solution, not an argument. I'm out. H
  20. So, again then, What, exactly, is wrong with the replacement. Do you consider it to be faulty? What does it not do that it should do or does it do that it should not. To determine liability, and a case if there is one, we need to know the fault. It wasn't mentioned in your first post and you've not stated it so far in any of your replies. 'Issues with the replacement' is not a description of a fault. H

  22. OMG, so many things wrong with this whole thread I don't know where to start. So I won't. H
  23. Oh Dear BF, so early on in the thread and you already mention court action. CarWow is an online broker, their T&C's state : How offers are received and accepted on the website We do not sell cars. We enable car dealers to provide you with offers for the sale of cars through the Website (“Offers”). If you decide to buy a car from a car dealer, you will be entering an agreement with that car dealer. We are not a party to that agreement. >>>By accepting an Offer made by a car dealer through the website, you are not committing to buy the car offered. >>>By showing an Offer on behalf of a car dealer, the car dealer is not committing to sell a car for that price or to sell a car at all Offers are received and accepted by the following process: You post on the Website your requirements and preferences for your new car. Car dealers issue an Offer, or an Offer is issued on their behalf, which matches your requirements and preferences. Car dealers may include a price, delivery time and other costs as part of the Offer. You consider the Offers and if you are interested in accepting an Offer, you get in touch with the car dealer. You and the car dealer may then agree a contract for the purchase of a car along the lines set out in the Offer. This may involve the payment of a deposit to the car dealer, financing packages or other contractual terms. We cannot guarantee that you will receive any Offers, or when any Offers will be issued. We may moderate Offers but we are not obligated to do so. We or the car dealer may choose to edit or remove Offers at anytime. If you choose to buy a car from a car dealer, you will do so by entering an agreement which does not involve the Website in any way. You must ensure that all information about you that is held by us is true, complete, not misleading and up to date. There is no contract yet and any court action will fall at the first hurdle. The 'trade' hates CarWow....................................................... H
