Castle Water Excessive late payment charges

Having experienced two severe flooding issues, one sewerage, neither which were caused by me, the cleanup used excessive water increase on my bill.  

 

Whilst disputing the bills I was charged interest on the outstanding amount and £50 late payment charges each time the bill was not paid within 14 days.  

 

I requested Castle to be sympathetic and reduce some of the charges,  they refused and sent a further bill with another £50 late payment charge.

 

 At this stage I owe nothing for my sewerage and water supply but. £330 for excess charges and late payment fees.

 

 Is anybody else receiving this level of excess charges.  

 

I think they are even higher than store credit card charges.

any penalty charge on anything was deemed unlawful long ago.

 

i would be contacting the regulator, esp and the penalty charges result from sums you eventually never owed anyway?
