Hi

I received a letter today from Churchill recoveries regarding an old utility warehouse account advising me of a home visit.

I'm not bothered about them rocking up at my house because they won't last 5 minutes as my MH is pretty darn bad and I will just argue with them for fun, my question is they have stated in the letter that there will be a charge of at least £100 or more. Is this legal not to state a correct figure? I mean they could put that and then charge me £1000 and say well we did put £100 or more.

Like I said I'm not afraid of the visit as I will record it and not answer anything they ask its the figure they are charging me as even at the lowest amount of £100 is more than 50% of the debt.

Is there a maximum they can charge etc just so I am prepared for there visit, I don't trust them one bit as I have already advised them all communication must be in writing due to my MH but they still bombard with calls from a mobile number to try and get me to answer.

Welcome to the forum.

They can add whatever they wish but unless they decide to litigate and issue a court claim its really irrelevant because you wont be paying it.

A DCA is not a BAILIFF!!

Dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
