Hi all.

I’m hoping someone can help me please.

I was in Kuwait in 2017 and left there in the December to come back to the Uk.

I had some debt that I am being pursued for.

The latest email comes from  an agency in central London stating

Dear Sirs,

We have already suggested you resolve the dispute regarding the debt to Gulf Bank in an amicable way several times, but you have not shown any intention to cover the debt even partially, and thereby, to avoid additional financial costs and reputation losses.

In case of further delay in repayment, the creditor will bring a lawsuit or apply any other legal measures to protect its rights.

We remind you that in this case all court costs, as well as expenses for legal services, including those of our company, will be borne by you. In addition, the total debt amount will be indexed including penalties, administrative fees, and other related costs.

Also, we will have to inform your entourage and business partners about your unreliability and violations of the contractual obligations, which would further aggravate the situation.

In this regard, we strongly recommend you to cover the debt in the amount of USD 8,030.12 and provide us the confirmation (payment order) in response to this letter by 13.09.2022.

can they pursue me for this?

I am worried they will contact my employers !

Help please!

Ignore the debt collectors email.

Send a letter to the Gulf Bank just confirming your current residential address for any correspondence.

What type of debt is this ?   Is there any reason to dispute the debt or the amount of debt ?

What is your current position ?  Are you in employment back in the UK ?   Do you own any UK property assets ?

We could do with some help from you.

  • dx100uk changed the title to Gulf Bank - Debt in Kuwait

Do CIS DRS state that their client is Gulf Bank ?

Presuming the debt is still owned by Gulf Bank.

As there is a slight risk to your UK property asset,  you should ensure that Gulf Bank have your current UK address.  This is to ensure that you receive any Court claims that they could make.

And you should work out how much you could afford to pay Gulf Bank and look to pay them, based on the amount of debt you left behind.

You do not need to deal with any debt collection company, who will be looking to earn a percentage of the debt

We could do with some help from you.

nice buggers arent they

they WILL scope all your social media sites and write threatening to gas your budgie

go sanitise them all protect your relatives

it was quite a good scam many years ago for various DCA's to do the on Far East Debt.

died in recent years, but there are of course scammers that still try it on.

they arent regulated so can say what they like

ignore then totally

nothing they can actually do

a DCA is NOT A BAILIFF

and have

ZERO legal powers on ANY DEBT - no matter WHAT it's type.

even less for a debt not UK !!

just wanting to scare you.

simple write to the BANK, informing them of your correct and current address.

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
