Snoring partner issues.

A friend has been having issues with her partners meds.

Most nights she is up due to his getting worse snoring. Drs is being as helpful as a chocolate fire guard but not tasting as nice. 

Any sain suggestions. She has elbowed him wacked him with a pillow rolled him over and out of bed.

As this is likely to go on for some time and not easily resolved, apart from those anti-snore devices that fit on noses (some say they work) or well fitting ear plugs for the partner or moving to a spare bedroom or sofa bed in lounge, there are no miracle cures.

Smothering it is. lol 

 

The Drs have said they would have to pay for them to investigate it as one of these work. Cant have earplugs as someone need to here the kids complaining about the noise.

Unreasonable behaviour is a ground for divorce.

Well l doubt that my friend can Divorce the Dr as she is not married to him. Also she is not married to her partner so no need for a divorce. Also could it be unreasonable if its due to change in meds

I know you posted your question quite a while ago..

 

Has your friends partner seen his GP to may be ask for a change in his meds?

 

I also think it might be a good idea for your friend to ask his GP to investigate further as to why his snoring is so severe. Not to worry your friend but it is worth checking this out as it could be something like sleep apnoea or obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA).

 

It's where your breathing stops and starts while you sleep and loud snoring can be the main symptom of this. This can be a serious condition depending on the level of apnoea's you have during the night, but it can be treated. One can have a very mild or severe level.

Its nothing like that. Cant move into a spare room as they dont have one. Its a ground floor flat and you can her him in my house next door so moving to the sofa wont help.

Oh crikey it is quite bad then..

 

The only other suggestion I can make is ask your friend to get him to sleep on his side as opposed to on his back. As this can make the snoring worse.

 

Or has she thought about him sleeping in a tent in the garden? or shed? or smack-bang in the middle of a field somewhere

Side back front does not matter. Cant change meds as they are for a medical condition.

I know it seems you have tried a few things and probably what I am going to suggest.

 

1. Have you tried raising/elevating the top half of the bed so that they are sleeping at an angle and not lying flat on the bed.

 

2. Have you tried a Bedroom Room Humidifier.

 

I have a couple of friends that had a bad snoring issue and was that bad as in this case but same scenario doctors not really wanting to know and just directing them to the NHS advice.

 

They tried the above elevating the top of the bed worked for one but not the other so the other tried the room humidifier and that worked for them.

 

Snoring is a difficult area to try to pin down what works for that individual.
