The Chinese are meanwhile ramping up construction of coal fired power stations whilst laughing at the west

The Charity Commission said

'We believe the lobbying efforts of organisations who deny a climate emergency are not charitable activities and should not be subsidised with our taxes. Ensuring the GWPF is investigated is an important further step in our work to shed light on the role dark money plays in our politics and to push for transparency over who really pulls the strings of this Government.'

Disgraceful and disgusting,

and the poopulists just try to kick it further into the long grass while the situation deteriorates rapidly on their watch.

Britain’s regulators have little idea how much sewage is poured into rivers by water companies because of a lack of sensors, documents seen by i reveal.

It follows the launch of a campaign, Save Britain’s Rivers, by i and sister publication New Scientist to rescue the country’s waterways from the effects of pollution.

Britain's rivers are in a terrible state and will only get worse, according to the Government's own figures, with only 14 per cent classified as having a “good” ecological status by the Environment Agency.

Government plans to set a deadline of 2050 to put an end to sewage being dumped in open waters in England and Wales are set to be challenged in the High Court. The plan had previously been heavily criticised by campaigners for setting a deadline of 2050 to end overflows. Click here to find out more about our Save Britain's Rivers campaign.

“Three years ago, a company called Sunnica proposed taking some 2,500 acres – four square miles – of good agricultural land in the area out of production and submerging much of it in photovoltaic plastic. Few people liked the plan. Several farmers refused to participate. And the three local authorities concerned with planning and the environment in the area, West Suffolk, East Cambridgeshire and Suffolk County, were viscerally opposed.

So was that the end of the scheme? Certainly not. In this era of Net Zero, any solar scheme over 50 MW counts as a National Significant Infrastructure Project, or NSIP. This means the final decision is made, not by local people, but those in Whitehall. The worries of residents, who don’t fancy living in an energy factory, count for little. The same goes for farmers who prefer the idea of potatoes under their land to solar panels above it.”

Say it quietly, especially when there’s a Green listening: but there’s one certainty about Net Zero 2050. It...

Aren't many of the farmers going bust thanks to Brexit and its broken promises?

Let alone water quality and supply issues thanks to mismanagement, Global heating effects, Water company profiteering and waterways poisoning by the water companies (ignoring field fertilisation running off into rivers)?

- Need to use the land for something.

Aussies use solar to reduce land heating effect dont they - large arrays quite high mounted so animals can go underneath and theres an element of shading   ... from sun in Aus and wind and rain here ...

the Environment Agency has declined to prosecute United Utilities for polluting a river because the incident wouldn’t cause any “lasting damage”.

The water company has recorded more than 81,000 sewage spillages in English rivers in 2021, the highest number of the ten firms that operate in England.

'carbon capture' is little more than a con

The only ways to really capture carbon in a meaningful way are

1. Plant 5x more trees than you cut down

2. Take it out of the air using solar energy and convert it into carbon fiber products

The only chink of light in this madness came yesterday in East London, where a group of schoolchildren turned on Just Stop Oil protesters making them late for class.

Given that these kids will have had Net Zero propaganda rammed down their throats since they started nursery school, this was a remarkable development. Maybe all is not lost.

But for now, we are lumbered with the prospect of an incoming Labour government, committed to an energy policy set by a pair of metropolitan North London lefties wedded to an unworkable, ruinous future which will wreck the economy, cost billions of pounds we haven't got and leave us shivering in the dark in our own homes.

If you want an apt metaphor for Labour's insane green revolution, look no further than that mysteriously missing hydrogen-powered bus in Edinburgh yesterday.
