The implications for whoever took/used it in these circumstances could be serious - just as much for you if you could identify the person but didn't.

 

The Police would certainly be interested in looking into the whole matter from several viewpoints -

- whether you are trying to hide that you were the driver (Passport stamps prove you were not but they will look into it)

- are you trying to hide the identity of the driver

- whether you deliberately withheld from the Police knowledge of who was the driver

- their pursuing someone who TWOC and the various other offences flowing from that like no insurance, no license, possibly theft

 

As you have narrowed it down to one of three the Police would expect you to give their details as they would no doubt try to interview them with any or all of the above in mind.

 

SH*Т will almost certainly hit the fan. Where it lands depends on the truth, what can be proven to be the truth and responses of yourself and the three - and their relationship with each other and you.

It's possible for you to have given "conditional permission" eg you gave them permission to drive your vehicle on condition they are insured to drive the vehicle, if this is the case it's a valid defence against no insurance for you (But not them)
