most garages await several reports before admitting there was an issue.

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

This sounds like the bio diesel issue which affects most manufacturers at the moment. Ask the Audi dealer to cut open the fuel filter and if it's full of a blackish gooey substance that's the culprit, strikes at random for some reason and won't affect every car even if filled from the same pump but failure mode is exactly how you describe. If it is this then Tesco not liable.
