You have my sympathy.

I have similar problems with them.

Been with them over thirty years and rather stupidly have many, different types of accounts with them.

When things go wrong they are not interested and very aggressive and intimidating from the start.

Not helpful and certainly not on your side.

What really annoys me is that they hide behind being a Building Society and not abank.

Everyone seems to fall for this including the regulators and the government

who seem to think that the sun shines out of their ...because they have members and not shareholders.

The only thing the Nationwide are interested in is themselves and to hell with its members.

...reality they are worse than criminals.

You expect this sort of treatment and tactics of intimidation from criminals not from so called respectable banks and building societies banks in all but name.

I wish you all the best for the future and hope it helps to realise that you are not the only one against the monster as there are lots of us ones in the same or similar boat.

Never think that you are on your own in this life.

You're Not.

Many thanks,

it is just so frustrating dealing with them, as they don't listen to a word you say.

I am with a different bank now, but still cannot forgive the way the banks treat us.

They offer you everything, up your credit limit when you don't want it, and then treat you as you say like the criminal that in fact it is them.

I am getting very tired, but will not give up fighting them.

I have a journalist from one of the national papers, to see if he can do anything, but I don't hold out much hope.

Next step is to go to my MLA here in N. Ireland, and then court, because I have wasted a year with them,

and I know I will be fighting for all those people out there, who haven't even got jobs to go to...

Update on this one, overdraft with Nationwide, arranged to pay them £20 a month, but they say I have to pay the charges and interest which are around £50 a month, so how does that work out. Are they just stupid.....

Query re the Nationwide,

I have been trying to put an arrangement with them,

for my overdraft and my credit card debts,

but they put a default on my file immediately,

because they said they had to by law.

I have a complaint with the FOS about Nationwide.

I was in an arrangement with the credit card,

but now it has been passed to KPR, their inhouse people.

So my payments were not counted, and I was not told that it was being passed on.

Is the third party issue, that they would have shared my info with Experian?

They also will not close down my current a/c, and are still adding interest and charges

.... Sorry to butt in

Hi,

When did you stop paying them?

What date was the default added?

Have you been paying them anything during that period?

One point,

please someone correct me if I am wrong,

they do not have to by law!

It is simply a contractual issue that when you take out whatever product you agree to them passing your info to CRA's like Experian.

I have never found a law compelling a creditor to default with a CRA. You could ask them to show you this law?

Why weren't your payments counted?

Seems as though they are treating you very unfairly and under BCOBs (overdraft)

and COBs (credit card)

you may have a claim but you need advice, I'm not sure I'm spot on here and someone may correct me.

It is important you explain to them your situation and outline your hardship through Income & Expenditure.

What is your complaint with FOS about?

George Loveless - “We raise the watchword, liberty. We will, we will, we will be free!"

My advice is only my opinion, I am not a legal expert.

My Nationwide complaint is still with the FOS, and

I am still getting charges/fees for an unauthorised overdraft, which they created.

The FOS has asked me to pay Nationwide whatever I can afford, but

I have said what is the point whenever Nationwide won't communicate until the FOS is finished,

and if I pay anything, it is dead money, because of the charges and fees.

Yes I think so....

Nationwide complaint with FOS,

I was not happy with the outcome,

so have appealed it.

They will not refund the charges/fees,

and are still adding them.

Also did not refund the tax credits,

still owe me £69,

so charges are mounting,

and they still won't stop the interest and charges,

it is not logical and yet the FOS was agreeing with them.

Going to pay them nothing will go to court if they want to.

Result from appeal to FOS, and it is still not good,

as the bank wants me to pay my overdraft and credit card off within 12 months,

no way could I do that,

not with interest and fees added on.

They are offering £250 as a goodwill gesture for not returning my emails, letters etc.

I am broke at the moment,

and the roof needs repairing,

new tyre for car,

all my household bills have went up, and

we have cut back on everything,

to the extent, where I feel I would be better off in jail.

...lol. No bills.

Can I appeal to anyone about this decision by the FOS?

Many thanks

Got the FOS decision, and accepted it for my flexi account,

so have sent an email and credited one pound to the account,

and have explained to them that I cannot afford to pay it off in 12 months. No reply yet.

Nationwide Credit Card

- nothing heard for months, and

this morning received a letter from KPR final warning, and that I didn't keep to the agreement, didn't even know I had one with them.

Threatening court action, and additional fees.

I have just starting actually last week paying a token payment of £1 to the credit card.

Want to reply to them, but as on some other threads, I see that they are not very good at remembering what has been agreed, and what they have said.

I am looking for an email address, as recorded delivery has lost two very important letters,

re mortgage debt over the last six months.

Should I just CCA them.

Will CCA today?

Update on this,

NW are now saying they will not accept my token payment on my flexi a/c, as I will never get it paid off within a year.

Also for my credit card debt, when I CCA'd them, they have just sent me the last page of the document, with my signature on it from 2003,

and are now going to go down the legal route.

What can they do?

My CRA record is completely ruined, all because I was sick for a year, with stress/depression, and I kept them up to date with everything.

The credit card did not contact me for over 6 months, and then bang out of the blue. threatening legal route as well.

I am still paying them a token payment, and have sent my budget sheet to them, as

my mortgage with Santander went up £100 as they wouldn't give us a new rate, because of my credit rating, which they destroyed.

I just feel that as most of my debts are now over 11 years old, what is the point of paying anything, as if I had the money, they could have it.

Sent the CCA request and

all I got back was a copy of the last page, where I had signed it.

I sent the Account in Dispute letter, and

they again sent me the page, but with the application form on the front copy.

They say they are taking legal action, even though the agreement pages were labelled 1 - 6,

all I got were two pages,

no terms and conditions,

and they are demanding £160 a month.

I have offered a token payment on my flexi account,

but they are adding charges for unauthorised overdraft,

and use of the overdraft,

so the charges are well over £50 a month.

I am at my wits end with Nationwide,

as they don't even take any notice of the FOS.

Any suggestions,

other than to wait and see and keep paying the token payment.

They are uncooperative with any payment at all.

I have a credit card debt of just over £5400 and had been paying it off very well, until 2012, when I taken ill.

Nationwide agreed to a small payment of £20 a month, after a lot of arguing.

But things got worse as i had no money coming in.

They put a default on my a/c, in Feb 2013,

then I heard nothing from them,

so started to try and pay little bits back every month,

then I stopped, because there was still no communication from them, no promises to freeze interest/charges or anything.

Now I have received another default, and

quite swiftly a solicitors letter who will deal with the debt, to put a charge against my house, which I owe jointly with my sister.

This has all come about very quickly, and particularly the solicitor her in my home town.

Nationwide did not ask for a budget sheet, which I provided to them, and I CCA'D them, but only got an application form 3 times.

I want to pay the debt off, but when I am in a better financial position.

I am now, so fed up with Nationwide, that I feel like burying my head in the sand,

because putting a charge on my house,

how did they know I own one.

No negotiations about budget or anything, just straight to court.
