Christmas week, other things on my mind etc.... miss calculated bank charges due to come out of my account ,(only 2.50) and it caused my account to go into the red.....by 6p!! I rectified it the next day. I now have to pay a 25.00 pounds bank charge!!!:mad2: I have asked the bank for any leniency ' they said they couldn't, it wouldn't be fair to other customers'. Surely this is completely dispraportionate? is there anything else i can do??

So I gather that it is their own charges which have pushed the account overlimit and that they have then gone on to add a further charge because of their charge. Is that correct?

I think that is hugely unfair. Read up on BCOBS and of special interest to you will be the letter to RBS which raised the same issue.

The question is, what would you like to do about it?

We can help you recover the charge but it would require a threat of court action. Your bank would not be a happy bank.
