hi i ordered on the 19/01/2011 and same problem i have contacted the company who ownes the website and they are looking into this open a claim via paypal and try and get a refund like i have done

ye to easy i have been trying to contact him since the 19th but had no joy so i found who owns the website its a company called 1and1 type it in google and phone the support team and make a complaint about the website and email the legal department and tell them the website address and that the website is a [problem] like i have done also you will find if you go to who.is and type in the website is comes up with a diffrent address for him but the company is called union radiators

Did you have any problems getting the refund ?

Their website only accepted paypal.

When I emailed first time it was relied to via blackberry.

I have found No 4 Tallant Terrace on search and its shown as a hairdressers so maybe this is a parade of shops ?

i still have not had a refund but paypal and the website host are looking into the matter and i tried to contact him via phone and email but the phone just rings out and since today the emails bounce back.

 

and no 4 Tallant Terrace the hairdresers will not accept calls as i found the contact number for that but no joy with that one that is a house or flat.

 

i found out the account number for his website and the email address h15txy @ hotmail.com is the email linked to his paypal so paypal will not be able to get in contact with him so after 10 days of opening up the case we shuld get a refund

 

and he gave a fake number to the website host because he gave them 01413334434 that number is not reconised and he goes by two diffrent surnames it is jay walker or jay macdonald but the e mails ar signed jor dan

The distance between the 2 addresses is 29.5 miles.

 

It could well be that Mr.Walker is just running the console business from home.

Just a little confused as to why he does not use an email address that is more suited to that business.

 

At this stage,there is no real proof that he is doing anything wrong,and it would be premature to be making assumptions in the absence of more people reporting problems.

But when a website that was taking orders disappears after a couple of days,and at the same time emails fail on delivery,and there is no way to properly check delivery progress as advised on the email confirmation of payment of goods rec........then I would suggest these are very good reasons to be concerned.

I have some other things to check out,and will be reporting back.

I think a call to the Trading Standards offices for both Glasgow and Falkirk would not go amiss.

1 and 1 are the domain name registrar, not the site owner - the Jay person is the site owner

 

Going at the hosting company as well as the registrar is a good idea. Looking it up for you, 1and1 also appear to be the host, but it is there German branch. Best bet is to email the abuse department, abuse@ oneandone.net, to get another angle on it.

Sorry, I should have been a bit clearer

 

Alot of web hosts have one or more datacentres, which could be in different countries, to serve one "region". Some hosts let you pick where your hossting is and may have different pricing with the cheapest hosting being in a country with the lowest operating costs, e.g. hosting in a UK datacentre could be more expensive than an Irish or other European datacentre .

 

1and1 would appear to have a datacentre in Germany and for whatever reason that is where the server which hosts the site in question seems to be based, based on its IP address. The correct method for reporting abuse to a host is to use the abuse@ email address.
