  1. When did you send letter; where did you send it and was it recorded?
  2. Write a letter of offer to their head office.
  3. They can send as many reconstructed agreements as they like, they can't enforce unless they have your true copy. I would remind them of this, and regardless of what they say, send to Compliance only.
  4. I wouldn't recommend topping up your loan with them either.
  5. Unfortunately, that is the way they do it, they don't make anything easy. Are you reclaiming PPI?
  6. I think it's too late for Welcome anyway. Cattles will probably survive, but it'll be much smaller than it used to be with only The Lewis Group and Shopacheck being kept.
  7. They take it off the end of the loan rather than reduce the monthly payments, it's a con.
  8. It's not about simply refusing this info; if it was another company asking for proof of addy I would supply it, the problem I have is that Experian will know my current address as it is on my credit file. Again, I find it strange that the other 2 don't require this and this lot do.
  9. Yep you're on the new style loans. It should happen automatically, but occasionally it doesn't. Speak to your payroll dept about it or the HMRC as they collect the money and send it to SLC each financial year.
  10. Something tells me they should have been on Monday's Panorama as well! The simple fact is if they don't have an agreement for this other loan, it is unenforceable. Further, I would be reclaiming what has been paid as there was no agreement for the extra (non existant) money.
  11. Has anyone else been continually asked for evidence of address each time you apply for your £2 credit report? This is the second time in a year I have applied for this and this is the second time they've asked for proof of address. I have 2 problems with being asked for this; firstly, why would they be requesting this information when they should already be able to confirm my address through their own records? Secondly, I am nearly 100% certain that if I was requesting my report through their online service, CreditExpert, I wouldn't be asked for this. So why for the postal report? Maybe I'm being a cynic but could it be because of the potential of about £50 after the month's free trial? The other problem I have is simply having to wait longer and pay more, albeit the cost of a stamp, but why should I have to when they already know my address? Equifax and Callcredit don't request this info, so why this lot? Does anyone know if I have to send this? Can I refuse and request it is sent immediately?
  12. It's £15,000 for post 1998 loans and around £24,000 for pre '98 loans
  13. Can't advise as I'm querying the same with the FOS and it's taking an age. I'm keen to see how your case goes though.

    Welcome

Don't do a rewrite without a bit of investigation as to what they have done, rewrites almost always put you in a worse situation. If they don't have your agreement, they can't collect.
  15. Yes and I can understand why, Ive had many arguments with rude, jumped up staff at Welcome. I have got through to Compliance. I'll try n find the number I called n Ill post it tmrw.
  16. Did you get to speak to anyone in Compliance?
  17. Ignore the branch and go straight to Compliance - the branches will do anything to get their cash. Once the agreement is re-written, the old one is void, it means nothing. He's either thick or trying his luck, I would say a mixture of the 2. When you go to Compliance, make sure they know exactly what you've been told by their branch and let them know that if you do not receive a satisfactory response and your CCA, you'll go straight to the FOS.
  18. Yes you can and it's likely they'll refund them. I requested these charges refunded to me in the summer and they did. Just ask them to prove that it costs them £10 to call you, £10 for a letter etc. They won't be able to.
  19. Is it an actual default notice letter? WFS are good at sending letters out and making them seem more than they are. If it says 'default sums' then that is another matter.
  20. Thanks. Any inside information you can give to help those in difficulty would be much appreciated.
  21. I was hoping this thread was telling us about 1st Credit being wound up and all its assets being sold for peanuts.
  22. It definitely sounds like the insurance provider for Sky. My mum had a call from them last week and the guy was quite persistant in getting her bank details over the phone. Grrrrrr! Luckily, she was quick to tell him she won't give anything over the phone and asked for the info pack. He wasn't happy, but tough. I don't know why Sky are phoning as I registered them on the TPS.
  23. Can we all reclaim back from the start? Does the statute limits not apply?
  24. Post does disappear sometimes for a few weeks at a time but he's normally still finding out more info about Welcome behind the scenes. I wouldn't worry about it.
  25. I'm not sure if there is one. It'd just be to tell them that they are indeed harrassing you as you have withheld payment until they provide you with your CCA and that you'll report them to the OFT and Trading Standards if it continues. If you need help just yell.
