  1. It's a shame to see another company go down the pan.
  2. Be prepared to wait up to 12 months for a resolution to your complaint from the ICO, however. It is definitely worth reporting though.
  3. Yes but if it wasn't for their hard approach, Welcome would still be trading as normal
  4. Well after seeing Cattles' share price drop to just over 1p and then raise to over 6p before being suspended I was starting to think this lot would survive. Reading some of the investors' comments certainly didn't help with that, but now that even their optimism has went, it certainly does look as though WFS are finished for good. I wouldn't gloat at people losing their jobs, however, we've all experienced this lot's lies, unprofessionalism, threats and fake agreements to name a few, and we all know they get away with it. It just proves that it's not just a company that had a corrupt boardroom of directors; it filtered all the way down to the advisors. I believe in karma, and this is what happens when you play dirty. I would advise people to be even more vigilant. Remember, Welcome employees have very little to lose now and may want to play games with the customers. Make sure all your paperwork is in order and, if in doubt, ask here.
  5. As above, report them to the Information Commissioner. Welcome have a bad habit of sending other customers' information out.

    Welcome

If this happens to anyone, it's important you report them to the Information Commissioner as they're breaching the DPA. The only reason they do it is because nothing happens.
  7. They're talking crap. They have to pay this out if it is ruled in your favour. My experience with the FOS is similar to yours. I made a complaint about the interest on the Acceptance Fee to find out once and for all if this could be added. I made my initial complaint in February and I am not awaiting an ombudsman to take over my case as the adjudicator simply rhymed off borrowing and repaying loans regardless of what the legalities are.
  8. Yeah I thought the 30 days was scrapped as well, Post. It used to be that after the full 42 days the creditor could be reported and appropriate action taken against them for breach of the DPA. That was removed about a year ago.
  9. She's probably the manager of the store. On the dole yet? lol
  10. Did you actually watch the programme from start to finish? If you had then I'd assume you wouldn't think it's right that employees of BH are adding extras on without telling the customers they have a choice. The undercover reporter was doing a job, to show what they were doing!
  11. I'm quite surprised at the number of people that are reporting this kind of intimidation from inspectors, particularly in London. I understand there will be a lot of passengers who don't have a ticket who deliberately are trying to evade payment, and it is acceptable to take them to court etc. However, there's going to be a number of people who genuinely bought the wrong ticket, or dropped it etc and they are being treated like criminals. The ticketing system on Britain's railways is quite complicated as it is; it's not always clear when peak and off peak times are, what zones the tickets covers and so on. Surely the most politest way of getting the lost revenue is to advise the customer of where they've made the mistake, or to make sure they hold on to their ticket in future and charge them the fare?
  12. Don't tell me whether or not I can comment, you're not even a moderator. If you'd read what I had said you'd see that I commented that Asda had done their part, however, he should take it further with the contractor for the reasons I had given. Just because other people do not agree with you does not give you the right to speak in that manner to them.
  13. I'm too tired to read the whole thread through, but I agree that you should take action against the company, however, I don't think it should be Asda. I would accept the offer from Asda and contact the contractor to complain about what happened. I think you're right to take action when a 14 yr old girl hears someone talking about their mother like that.
  14. I know it's difficult, but deal with one thing at a time or you'll get stressed. Firstly, you're doing the right thing. Wait for the letter from the Post Office and forward it to the Compliance department in Nottingham. Ignore all threats from Welcome as they will write off any charges etc once they see that they're being thick again.

    Welcome

No it's not, I've used that all the time and they've received it! As long as you put the freepost code on it, they'll get it.
  16. Yes you do, but in order to trace the payment it is a better method. Perhaps you could make a mark at the side of your signature incase they do attempt forgery.
  17. Martin has to be cautious about what he says and I think he's probably more aware of it now. There's people on his own forum blaming him for building this hype, quite wrongly in my opinion, but he is trying his best.
  18. Sol

    Welcome

Yes you would as it's a freepost address, but the cost will be cheaper as you're only paying for the recorded part, not the postage.
  19. I don't know if postal orders can be traced at your end, you may have to send the £1 fee in again. Do you have a cheque book instead?
  20. Brown couldn't organise a *iss up in a brewery, he's no idea! The sooner he and Labour are out the better!

  22. I would be in for it. It's about time we showed all these *ankers and politicians they're nothing without us!
  23. This is a terrible day for British justice. The banks appealed twice and they won on the third occasion. Surely we can appeal? I agree with some of the posters about showing the banks that without us, they would have no business in the first place. Rather than everyone taking their cash out of their accounts (which is less likely to have an effect), why don't we try and set up 1 day for each bank, just to show them how fragile they are without us. It would work by saying Lloyds 12th Dec, Barclays 15th Dec and so on. Obviously it would only work if it was made public, but due to the vast number of claims for bank charges, I think a very high number of people would do this.
  24. Yep I agree, the questionnaires are a waste of time, they don't even look at your original letters of complaint. The FOS route will also get you an extra £200 compensation as well, which isn't too bad.
