  1. I read this whole thread with interest and only took me two hours lol. I honestly can't believe that this joke of a company have been able to get away with this for so long, but hopefully they'll get hit back hard! I used to work for the 100 operator service a few years ago and Wescot used to call us all the time asking to be put through to people's numbers and then pretending to be someone else when the person answered, so I've no doubt all the debt companies do the same to trace neighbours and family members etc.
  2. I used to work for SLC so I'll try and help as best I can from what I've read. First of all when did you start uni and do you still have your Notifcation Letter with your award on it? If you don't have this ask SLC for a re-print of the acad yrs Notif letter and show this to the uni. They should be quite helpful if it shows it's not your error. Secondly with regards to your entitlement you would need to speak to Sandwell LEA and only them as they work out the entitlement and forward it to SLC for payment, so any help from them would be limited.
  3. Scottish Power are atrocious at their administration. Two years ago I stayed in a flat with a friend. We had the gas and electricity in both our names for about 4 months and always paid on time. Then we started to get bills in someone elses name. I immediately sent this back advising this person didn't live at my address. Over a year and several phone calls and fax's later it was resolved AFTER I moved out the property. Due to their error they wanted me to pay over £800 which I refused as I had been in constant touch with them re this. After complaining to Energywatch I got a deduction of around £180 bringing it down to about £600, which I still think is ridiculous to pay out for their mistake. My advice would be to change to a different supplier, SP aren't the cheapest anyway.
  4. Thanks. What exactly is a CCA request?
  5. I know like everyone else what DCA's can be like but I'm still shocked at some of the tactics they've used. I have a debt with them of around £625 and have ignored their letters (stupidly) as I didn't have the money to pay at all. The problem is they were harrassing me for months by phone and mail and I haven't heard anything for at least 2 months. I'm starting to worry what they might be doing. Any advice would be much appreciated.
  6. Hi this may sound stupid, but the loan you described that you wanted to pay off first is called the "ICR" loan and the "mortgage style" is the old style paid by DD. Could it be that you asked to pay off the wrong loan first?
