Hi

I have read other posts on this site but I just wanted clarification.

I sold something over Facebook marketplace via PayPal friends and family (stupid I know). The buyer did a chargeback and now my PayPal is negative £260.

it’s not a PayPal credit so no credit agreements was made and I don’t even use the PayPal account it’s very rare, I can comfortably live my life without PayPal.

I have started to get phone calls and texts from moorcroft now, I know letters would be on the way so I went into my PayPal account and put in a made up address.

From what I understand because it’s not PayPal credit nothing can get put onto my credit history, I don’t have to pay them anything and all

moorcroft do is scaremonger for a while then pass it back to PayPal.

Any information would be great.

thanks

not a wise idea to change your address....

how long have you had the PP A/C and was this episode since brexit?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

ok thank you.

there has been nothing untoward happen regarding post Brexit new pp accounts i've seen.

there are starting to pop up another dca that has purchased pre brexit stuff with court cases but none of them go anywhere as there is no jurisdiction as the 'credit' was eu.

pers i'd just let things run see where they go.

what i would do is put back your correct address on pp.

never hide from debt, you dont want a backdoor ccj in the future should it ever ever come to that but i seriously doubt it.

just remember the golden rule.

a dca is not a bailiff

and has

zero legal powers on any debt no matter what its type.

I've been dealing with my wife's PP debt, seriously don't lose any sleep over it, just make sure they have your correct address, and 99% nothing will ever happen. If it does just come back here.

We could do with some help from you.
