Hi.

I took my son to get a eye wash in tescos pharmacy and the lady suggested a different option. I thought she sold me eye wash but it was wipes to clean the outside of the eye.

I bought the eye wash and when I went to take the wipes back they would not accept it. They say they can’t sell it again because it was out even if it was not open and it’s not medication.

It this right?

Do I have consumer rights here?

It was £11 but the feeling was the they were up selling something that I didn’t need

I believe the sale of medical care goods policy prevents them exchanging any medical care items as once the leave the store they cannot be put back on the shelf even if unopened and rightly so.

If the Pharmacist made the recommendation for the wipes then you would be best to use them as they are trained to dispense the best solution for your care.
