The voter ID scheme won't be ready in time for the local elections next year, according to the Electoral Commission. And the government won't budge even though it amounts to voter suppression.

Conservative party: A new grassroots Tory group pushing for 'more democracy' in the party is “a budget front organisation” for the campaign to bring back Boris Johnson, some Conservative MPs fear.

The Conservative Democratic Organisation (CDO) argues that the party’s constitution must be overhauled to give members more say in how it is run. Its leaders have accused Rishi Sunak of orchestrating his own coronation after being rejected by members – but deny the claims that they are aiming to restore Mr Johnson to No 10.

I dont watch it - but have little doubt.

Report from New York (See oorsel as others see us)

Restaurants across London are so short-staffed that they have had to curtail operating hours, close on some days of the week and, in extreme cases, shut their doors altogether. While the city’s once-thriving dining scene has also been hurt by the pandemic and by soaring energy prices, the labor shortage is almost wholly a result of Brexit.

London restaurants used to recruit many waiters, chefs and bartenders from Italy, Spain and Greece. That talent pool has dried up since Britain ended the free movement of labor from the E.U. An estimated 11 percent of jobs in Britain’s hospitality industry are vacant, according to a recent industry survey, compared with 4 percent for the broader economy.

More than a third of restaurants, pubs and hotels could face insolvency or even closure by early 2023, according to a recent survey. The Christmas holiday had beckoned as a year-end redemption

and as if shooting yourself in the kneecaps at home isn't enough

Lets look at some real world export markets self-kneecappings:

More than 40 per cent of British products previously exported to the EU have disappeared from European shelves since Brexit, new figures show.

More than 40 per cent of British exports have disappeared from European shelves since Brexit. The scale of British unilateral economic disarmament has been truly vast.

As a former Brussels correspondent, I occasionally paid visits to the Belgian capital’s “British shop”, where expats missing home could stock up on familiar UK produce like Marmite or shortbread. But visit today, and everything possible has been replaced with an Irish analogue because it is easier to procure within the single market

"The government's next fleet of armoured ministerial cars will be made in Germany because supply chain issues hampered by Brexit mean no British manufacturer is able to meet its requirements, The Independent has learned.

The Metropolitan Police announced over the summer that it was ditching armoured Jaguar XJs for Baden-Württemberg-assembled Audi A8s – prompting criticism.

But it has now been revealed that the decision was made because there no British car maker is "able to meet the requirements of the tender", forcing the Met's hand."

Brex-hits bonus - to our competitors

"When the government launched trade talks with the US in 2020 it revealed that it was expecting the agreement to provide just a 0.16 per cent boost to GDP by 2035 – the size of a forecast rounding error.

And its strategic case for a deal with New Zealand estimated a gain of “between 0.00 per cent and 0.01 per cent” in the long run, under the best scenario.

These figures were set against an expected CURRENT hit to GDP from leaving the EU of 4 per cent."

and as these are 'best case scenarios" and 'by 2035" in real world terms based on a median result they have signed deals which DAMAGE the UK economy

Drakeford's  default 20mph limit is likely to be extended to ALL roads as time goes by, including Motorways, Drakeford could not run a whelk stall and is banned out of JW Lees Hotels throughout UK.

One of his nicknames is  "Y hen crwban ofnadwy" (The old terrible tortoise)  They do nothing for Mid and North Wales its all Cardiff centric, its almost akin to Sadiq Khan being the First Minister of an All England Assembly.

You don't  live in Wales  so don't know the half of it. Drakeford when Health Minister, and his successors have made an even worse job of it than England, and BCUHB in north Wales messed up a world class vascular Service on the altar of Centralisation, and has a Fraud investigation ongoing over some cash discrepancies. Similar issues in South Wales with 10 hour waits for ambulances, if one even turns up

Seem to have posted the following to the wrong thread - probably due to massive stalls and runnaway tasks on the site especially that cretinous runaway background

So here it is

* Heard of the westminster UK guvs waste of £billions in its interactions with and via Dido Harding and Michelle gimme the Mone'y?

* or its routing of taxpayer money by the 10s and 100s millions to Tory pal rat companies, cake shops and pub landlords for duff ppe?

* Or selling headlines about creating loads of Nightingale hospitals at a cost to the taxpayer of £millions - to use a few of them as waiting rooms?
