For reasons I've stated in the NHS thread I wish that I had power of attorney. I've just been told that my mum gave me power of attorney when she gave me control of her bank account. Is it possible?

A few years ago when my mother signed a financial Enduring power of attorney [in England], we had a meeting with a solicitor to explain everything. There was a form that my mother signed and so did I as her attorney.

We also signed a health and welfare PoA. Most people do both.

Then it had to registered with the Office of the Public Guardian.

What paperwork do you have to do with the bank account?

HB

Illegitimi non carborundum
