Anyone else hate Office 365?

I mean really hate it, with a passion.

 

With an unhinged rage that makes me want to grab my PC, rip out every cable as though each one was a line from a life support system, smash it on the ground and hurl it out the window.

 

I hate Microsoft.

I hate Microsoft too and Office and the fact it's a near monopoly.

 

But I think the Apple equivalent is even worse.

That's very true, but it still works like Office. I also have problems with MS Office getting funny about letting me use documents in Open Office unless I pay for MS Office.

You can get the MS converter free that converts new office docx types into old .doc types which anything can read. I've been doing that for a loooong while and never 'up-downgraded' from office   2003 at home lol. I find later offices and especially MS mail systems more trouble than they could EVER be worth.

.. and still use a  quite old windows 7 laptop for most things (t8300)

 

I have a stripped windows 10 dual boot install for some games on an i7, a couple of nix setups and even a stripped down xp server on some really old dual core lappies that just act as servers.

I don't know why people buy Office 365. I get the one-time-purchase which is a superior package and works out cheaper (and in fact free) after a few years in comparison.

Just another tip for windows users

The issue with long directory paths and windows waiting until the near the end of a copy before telling you 'filename too long

 

Use 7-zip

Its file manager doesn't have that problem and 7-zip file manager isn't just for adding to or extracting from zips - its a full blown file manager with copy, move and rename and with long path support
