PCN from Slough Borough Council for being in a Bus Lane

Hi 

Been issued a PCN for using a bus lane.

 

The date of detection was 22/12/21 , date of notice and posting was 31/1/22.

 

Am i right in assuming i can refuse payment on the grounds that the notice had to be served within 28 days of the date of detection ?

 

Any help would be appreciated

Is the reg doc V5c registered in your name and address?

The PCN was issued on 31st January 2022 for an alleged contravention on 22nd Decenber 2021, which exceeds the 28 days required for service  

Should you disagree you must justify the late service with supporting evidence

 

 

 

They can serve a PCN after 28 days, as long as they asked DVLA for the details within the first 14 days but weren't notified by the DVLA untill after 28days. At the same time as sending the above I suggest you contact the DVLA to find out when they received the request.
