Hello.

My employer tried to make a thing about how I performed my duties whilst working on the shop floor.

Whilst going over the footage with them (nothing found),

I seen that the CCTV showed footage of me getting changed down to my underwear (as there are no changing rooms).

HR and my supervisor have both seen this footage.

The employer hasn't registered with the ICO to use the CCTV but also hasn't put up signage, etc in the workplace to say that CCTV will be used and watched.

Is there a legal position on this or am I getting needlessly upset?

erm..alert the others workers too

this sounds fun

I know of one employer that got severely fined for exactly the same thing.

he said no i'll donate the fine money to a charity

they turned around and said no, telling them its just doubled and that you will now devide that by 33 [as that was the number of workers 'caught' on the system ]and pay them it as compo as well..

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

  • 1 month later...

I had to sit and watch some covert CCTV of staff with my manager, some of those staff were getting changed. One of the staff recorded getting changed was me, and it was humiliating sitting there watching myself get undressed with my male manager watching too. So I know how you feel, but if there's a legitimate reason for the filming, then I'm not sure there's much that can be done

Hi and thanks for that. That is disgusting and is not on! I took a look at the Human Rights Act and found this:

http://www.abouthumanrights.co.uk/human-rights-cctv.html

Human Rights and the Use of CCTV

Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights concerns the right to family and private life. This includes the right to respect for an individual’s home and correspondence. The right contained in Article 8 is known as a qualified right which means that there may be circumstances in which some interference with it is justifiable. This right means that an individual has the right to the level of personal privacy which is compatible with a democratic society, taking into account the equivalent rights and freedoms of others. Any interference with this right by a public authority may be subject to a test of acceptability.

Thoughts, anyone?
