Hello

hope someone can help,

We have been in a self managed DMP for the past few years,

before that a DMP with Stepchange.

We have about £90k of unsecured debt,

everything seems to be going fine making payments,

everyone seems happy.

We have a mortgage with Santander and hope to sell the house in a few years using the equity in the house to repay debts..

But what I really need to know is does anyone think it would be possible to remortgage

we need to have some emergency repairs done to the house.

the cost being £20,000 approx.

We don't think its the right time to sell.

So would like to increase the mortgage to cover costs.

We could afford the extra payments, and have plenty of equity in the house.

I looked at our credit score and its very low and no defaults are mentioned, or any of our debts.

What do you think?

Can anyone advise?

Thankyou

if you've no defaults

why is your score so low?

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Also, what DMP is it, and have you actually checked the enforceability of your debts, and reclaimed what you could. For multiple debts totalling that much, you would have to be extremely unlucky for it all to be enforceable and above board.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks
