As Title says. If a company bars an account and prevents you from using the service, are ETFs then legal?

I remember having this conversation before...

I assume this is a mobile phone so any answer will reflect that.

When you signed up, you agreed to pay the monthly bill and if the phone is disconnected for non payment, they are allowed to charge a fee if they terminate the account.

Many firms try to get away with charging the full monthly cost whereas, it is my opinion that they can't as they are not providing the full service.

They can charge a proportion of the rental cost if it includes texts and calls and data which is being withheld.

What they have been doing is adding admin fees which tend to be too much and not a reasonable amount (check out Vodafone for instance)

So, a long winded reply to a relatively simple question.

Okay so what would you consider a reasonable amount of cost for an ETF in this stance then?

How long is a piece of string! No one knows. As we cannot know how the monthly bill is broken down into its component parts. You could ask the supplier.

A kinda related question.

A school mum is moving she has a contract with VM for tv/phone/bb. She has about 3 months left on contract and where she is moving to they don't supply, its rural not moving due to choice but elderly family members who cant look after self, she is due to move before the contract ends by 1 month as she is going after the schools finish. they are saying she is cancelling the contract as she could take the contract with her even tho they have admitted she cant due to not suppo charge her ETFs.

Please remember the only stupid question is the one you dont ask so dont worry about asking the stupid questions.

I would have thought that if a supplier cannot provide the service to a new address, the contract should end however (and I am ready to be contradicted) if they can supply part of the service then they can charge ETFs for that part only.

If they are refusing then a complaint to them followed by a complaint to the Ombudsman.

I used to live in a Virgin Media area but when I moved to a rural area VM could not supply so they agreed to terminate the contract with 6 months remaining.
