Hi

I recently had a small debt with Virgin Mobile which was passed to BPO Collections in Glasgow.

I have recently paid this off in full and I got a letter from them stating that the Account was closed.

However on the 1st of this month they took £15 off my Debit Card despite the Account being settled.

I have rung them several times and despite there apologies and numerous promises to refund it I have still not had it refunded.

Don't really know what to do next as I am sick of chasing them but I do want my money back.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

You need to contact your Card Issuer and request a Charge Back onto the Card or Bank Account.

It looks like you have a CPA on your Card, therefore you also need to cancel this, therefore contact your Bank who will put a stop on the CPA.

The Financial Conduct Authority have confirmed that under the Payments Services Regulations (PSR), you may cancel a CPA via your Bank or Card Issuer.

A piece abut stopping CPA's are below from the FCA Website.

NEVER telephone a DCA

If a DCA rings you, refuse to go through the security questions & hang up!

Contact your bank. Tell them to cancel the CPA (continual payment authority) from your debit card to prevent any more payments being taken and ask them to do a chargeback for the £15. May be best to visit your local branch and take a copy of the letter proving the account closed and the debit was unauthorised.

on any debt

they are NOT BAILIFFS

and have

NO SUCH LEGAL POWERS.

I guess you gave them you card number over the phone?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
