I purchased online a PS4 from John Lewis which is till under 2 yr warranty(it is just over 1 yr old).

One of the sticks on the controller has become loose and makes characters difficult to control.

There is no damage on it

I phoned John Lewis and they told me to contact Sony.

I contacted Sony and they told me they only deal with 1st year of warranty and referred me back to..... John Lewis .

After i complained ,John Lewis contacted me and told me take the whole console to one of their stores for testing .

Now, shouldn't they should arrange for a courier to collect it from me ?

- as other companies have in similar situations .

No Not Necessarily... I think that they have offered a good alternative here.

However if you are unhappy, complain...

However Id take it in and see what happens :)

JL's problem under SOGA and consumer-contracts-information-cancellation-and-additional-payments-regulations

as it was an online purchase

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

JL say they will collect - but offered drop off as it is a quicker process. That maybe- but they should still give clear option of Courier-which they only offered after i complained

  • 2 weeks later...

Update

- as the PS3 (NOT PS4 as i incorrectly stated) is no longer available ,

JL gave option of my original price towards another product or refund.I

asked for refund.

However ,

a friend of mine says that since the PS3 is no longer available for me to buy from JL

- then they should upgrade me at no extra cost to a PS4

.Is this correct ?

Correct... Your friend is wrong...

All that is required is either a refund etc and the company has completed their obligations to you...
