Hi all

Nothing major to report had no more contact from either dealer or finance company I am not even sure if I should expect to hear today or if they will take time

My daughter passed the dealership on the bus this morning and the car was still in the same spot but as my hubby pointed out we have the key

I will continue to update

You should post the keys through his letterbox if you can't put them on the desk. Capture what you do on vid.

As it stands at the moment, you are in charge of the vehicle and he couldn't move it even if he wanted to.

Hi Conniff

His "office" is a mobile the whole place is situated behind a car wash that used to be a petrol station he wouldn't even accept the letter my hubby had to put it on the desk and take a pic of it on there whilst he shouted at the receptionist not to accept it

I should ask since I have had a email acknowledging our letter of rejection should I still send a written copy to them?

Thanks all I really do appreciate all your help

Hi all

I'm on the phone to finance company now they are saying that the dealer wants us to contact them to arrange to get the car towed to his garage at our expense and he will have a look at it

Help!!

Tell the Finance Company that you've had the car inspected independently (that's correct isn't it - was it the AA), that faults have been identified, the faults weren't identified by the dealer at the time of purchase and under SOGA 1979, you are rejecting the car. Tell the Dealer the matter is going to be reported to Trading Standards.

Hi all

We'll 5.30 had passed (just) and I haven't recieved a phone call so I am guessing it will be tomorrow now

I think the finance company are going to ask me or tell me that I must give the dealer a chance to fix the faults am I still allowed to say no? Or if I am forced to take that option am I allowed to insist it goes to a certified Peugeot garage and had a thorough check and all faults fixed?

I am so very grateful for every bodies help with this I will update tomorrow as soon as I have heard more

Oh and Rebel yes the AA did look at the car and said the fly wheel had gone causing the clutch to fail

Thanks again guys

Did you get a report from the AA?

All you need to say is that you are rejecting the car, write down what you are going to say, when they call, be assertive.

Morning all

I am up and ready for day 2 of this fiasco

I have wrote a few points down to tell the finance company when or if they call me today

I am going to explain that my sons school is some 7.5 miles away as he had to attend a school with a Autism unit while he does go by taxi there are times when we have to collect him I:e after school trips, parents evening or if he is ill

I am also going to explain that he is under the hospitals care with his legs he has special insoles and heel lifters in his shoes the gp believes he has a extremely tight calf muscle and also problems with his Achilles heel

I am also going to explain that he has to visit a health centre some 3.7 miles away for blood tests he occasionally has to have as he is vitamin d deficient and he is also listed at the same health centre with the community dentist who specialises in children with special needs

Hopefully this will help them see how important it is that they back me up and help me with this matter soon as I hear anything I will update

Thanks guys sorry about spelling so hard in my phone

Excellent.

Hi Rebel

Hope this doesn't make a difference but the thing the AA man wrote on the sheet is quite limited he hasn't wrote any of his thoughts he verbally sai them to my hubby on the sheet he has written

Clutch u/s

And under the "I have done the following section" he has written "needs attention"

Will this hinder me?

Thanks

No that's fine, I think it means 'clutch unsafe'.

To summarise tell the Finance Company that your son is covered by the Equality Act 2010.

Hi Conniff

Thanks for you reply I will keep it basic at the beginning and maybe elaborate if I need to?

Sorry I have another question don't want to come across as greedy but are we entitled to ask for the tax money we paid on the 15.7 when my hubby collected the car?

Thanks guys

Thanks again all

Ok here's the situation finance company just rang

Basically said they couldn't do anything with the car because we didn't take it to the place where they look at thier cars

She said the horrible guy my husband dealt with was just a salesman and his attitude towards my husband does not warrant a rejection letter

I told her put his attitude and the abise my husband recieved aside the car is faulty she said the dealer couldn't have known the fly wheel had gone and we have to gone them a chance to look at it

I said they had thier chance Saturday when my husband broke diene and called them and they had thier chance Sunday when he arrived with the car both times refused to deal with him

I have to ring her back in an hour she wants us to let them look at it see what the faults are I asked could we take it to someone of out choice she sai we have to give them a chance to fix it as they have the means to do so but we can get it independently checked when the work is complete

What do I do? I mentioned my son they didn't seem to care

Should I ring CAB or someone? I quotes the SOGA act she said well the law we follow I interrupted her and said no disrespect but you don't have your own law SOGA is the law

Please help

You can let them look at it, but you must be satisfied that any repair is a proper professional repair replacing broken parts.

Make sure you remind the finance company when they ring back that this is 'their' car and not yours.

Thanks Conniff

I am so confused she wanted an answer there and then I basically had to say to her I am not giving you a yes or no answer without having spoke to my husband and getting more advice

She said the dealer hadn't been given a oppertunity to look at the car because it was towed to the wrong place I said he refused to deal with the situation twice 1st when my hubby rang to say he had broken down I told her he rang them befor he rang the AA

I said the second oppertunity he had was when it arrived at his showroom the following day I said both times he refused to deal with it

She also tried to tell me the AA is not a expert opinion he can only tell you what he thinks she said we will not know what is wrong with it until it's been looked at

I don't know what to tell them
