Byedebt. keep the money to one side and get on with your life. Should anyone come calling and can prove that they bought the debt, only pay them what you actually owe and ignore any charges that are added on, or since they bought your debt for maybe 5p in the £, offer them a vastly reduced settlement figure. Try 15% to start and negotiate from there.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

The way I did it was to keep offering them a repayment plan and asking for their bank details. They kept refusing . This went backwards and forwards . I kept quoting OFT etc. They accused me of fraud and then in a monumental cock up on their part they really screwed up. I had put single down on my application form and then wrote to say I had found my wife dead. Both true ..we were separated ..they came back calling me a liar so they got a full on attack threatening OFT, Fos, TS, BBC etc etc. Never heard from them again

I must admit they did nearly drive me over the edge especially with her badly written letters. Now there is someone who would see me accelerate towards rather than brake

Any opinion I give is from personal experience .

Yeah im all clear now!

Minicredit use a debt collection company called OPOS based in Glasgow but according to this site they are the same company. They allow you to pay by any method you wish.

Mincredit claim they dont have the means to allow repayments so they transfer you to OPOS.

Again the FOS said this was strange and just trying to confuse/intimidate the debtor.

Email Mincredit your situation and a proposal of repayment asap, they will refuse! Then you can write a formal complaint then after you get there final response or 8 weeks has passed get a complaint to the FOS....its up to mincredit to sort it out before the FOS does!

Thats what I done and the FOS(who take for ages to sort it out!) got mincredit to reduce my debt from £2000 down to the original amount of £400 less £100 compensation for all my hassles! Paid it off in installments through OPOS.......thank god im free from them they are a nightmare!

That sounds about right, make enough fuss and go to the Fos (soon to be FCA) and you should get a result. Oh sometimes you have to tell the Fos that you do not agree with their decision and ask them to look at it again. I will be charitable and say they are overworked and make mistakes, others may think differently

Any opinion I give is from personal experience .
