I have a Yorkshire Bank Credit Card, I've been out of work for approx a year and have just manging the minimum paymentswith some missed, late payments and in the last couple of months I have defaulted on a few of them.I have just got a job and can once again start paying the minimum, i'm not using the card anymore, what do you think is the best course of action in getting some money back from them, freezing or lowering interest, etc.. your help would be greatly appreciated.

I think if you can get them to freeze interest for say 6 months then you might get back on your feet again. There is nothing so frustrating as paying token/minimum payments only to see the debt continue to rise.

You should also reclaim any late payment or default fees you have been charged. I notice you have a few threads for other cards.. I think you can pretty much take the same action with all of the accounts :)

So, I would first of all write and ask them all to accept an amount you can afford and also reduce or freeze interest for say 6 months. If they refuse, then put in a claim for all the charges you must surely have incurred.. :)

I have attached a budget sheet below so you can see where you are. You do not need to send this to any of your creditors at this time, however they may well just ask you for a copy if they agree to your request.

If they do that, then you need to make sure you dont let them know the other creditor details. You would just put Credit card 1 - balance outstanding - Creditor 2 - balance outstanding.

It would be best if you work out any payment offer on a pro rata basis so they are all being treated to an equal amount of any monies you have left after priority debts are paid.
