Just heard that Swift Sterling have assigned my PDL debt of £259 to Credit Resource Solutions.

Swift simply refuse to let me pay back by instalments so it's come to this.

What can I expect from these characters and how should I handle this - I understand they add on all sorts of ' admin fees ' for the hell of it!

Thanks

Hi,

Same thing happened to me and I tried to set something up over the phone only to be told they accept weekly payment plans but not monthly ones and if I don't pay within 4 weeks then swift sterling will take me to court. When I questioned the operator on his comment the phone call turned nasty and I made a formal complaint and aint heard off them since. Alot of people have told me they will pass it to Clartiy about DCA who are much more willing to set up a repayment plan so thats what I am hoping for.

Hi,

My experience of CRS was that they were unwilling to accept a reasonable repayment plan I could actually afford, despite it being propsed as part of a DMP with CCCS. As soon as my account was passed to Clarity (after about a month I think) the accepted the DMP straight away with no fuss at all.

My advice - be patient and stick to your guns. Clarity are much better to deal with.

Also, if they start adding daft fees you should challenge them - something I am in the process of doing myself. OfT say that they can only add reasonable and proportionate charges, and it does not cost them over 100 pounds to send me a letter and make a few phonecalls!

Just wanted to say I too took out a couple of payday loans from Swift sterling, the first couple i was able to pay back but the 3rd I couldn't. Swift sterling kept ringing me and I was offering monthly payments which they wouldn't accept. Then the calls from CRS started, the texts are driving me mad on average 3-4 a day! Some very rude rude rude lady called me on the 11th of January and when I explained my situation she said that they couldn't enter into a monthly payment plan, the whole way through the hopefully recorded conversation I kept saying I was offering to pay. The final insult was when she told me I shouldn't have got the payday loan if I couldn't afford to pay it back! hmmmm. Anyway phoned them this morning they are still not prepared to enter into a montly payment plan as they only have the accounts for 30 days thank god! Hopefully Clarity who are very accommodating will contact me after this time. Just hold on in there if you are experiencing the same!

Hi Folks

I am in the same position with Swift Sterling and CRS, texts are doing my head in, phone calls to home, phone calls to work. I have emailed them and spoken to them that I only want to communicate in writing and not over the phone to arrange a repayment plan. I have asked them to cease ringing and texting, to which they haven't!

I spoke to a woman from CRS when she rang my work, she didn't do any checks to see that it was me, and proceeded to spout off that she was acting on behalf of Swift Sterling. surely this is a breach of the Data protection Act...I would have thought that she would needed to ascertain who she was discussing this issue with first? Can someone advise please? I could have been anyone ? Do I ask for a transcript or a digital copy of our conversation and complain to the Data commissioner?

Many thanks

Doc

There wont be a copy unless you made one. PDLs rarely if ever record calls.
