They're currently being a real nightmare!

I took out a loan, and I kept paying the interest only for several months as I couldn't afford the repayments. I've had to cancel the DD as was getting nowhere fast and can see the never-ending debt cycle with them.

I have taken advice from the CCCS and their advice to me is to apply for a debt relief order. As this is a formal type of insolvency I wish to avoid this. I keep offering QQ repayments but they keep refusing; having read the forum it appears that their DCA's are pretty useless too and unwilling to set arrangements... any advice?

Hiya nottslad

Don't worry, just keep offering them what you can afford. Eventually they will pass over to a DCA (I'm having "conversations" with QQ's DCA at the minute - bunch of bully boys! - but that's all they are tbh). Don't offer any more than the original loan plus 1 mth interest. You will be ok I promise, just keep researching here and posting if you have any probs xx

I am tempted by going for a debt relief order, however I'm moving shortly and wouldn't want to rule out the possibility of changing jobs, and most employers credit check!

Lowell Financial who hold 3 of my debts (capital one and vodafone) have been brilliant. I sent them CCCS income and expenditure and they've accepted £5 per month off debts in excess of what I owe QQ!

Hiya

Unless it's security related your employer won't want to do a credit check. I have worked in finance for a number of years and although I've been CRB checked, I haven't been credit checked, or at least if I have it didn't matter!

I think banks need you to have a sqeaky clean record before employing you (acceptable) but this was jaw dropping, I went for a job with a well known insurance company and was declined becauise of debt problems and that was in a call center beggars beleif

Just keep making the offer to pay if they decide to go further it will in your favour to have done so.

alternatively if you are willing to pay set up standing order for just what you can afford after taking into

account all other calls on your income.

Had a text message from them today offering a reduction in the balance for payment in full, can't help but think this is a tempting offer, but then if I do go for formal insolvency I'm at risk of treating them as a preferential creditor and would be in trouble with the OR...

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Thanks, dx100uk! I was not aware of that policy. I’m sorry! Because we value privacy and handle highly sensitive information for our customers, we will not and can not discuss details of a person’s loan on a public forum, which is why we direct them to contact us. Plus, every customer’s situation is unique and we handle them accordingly. I'll be sure to refrain from posting our phone number.

Having said that, my account has been verified by consumeractiongroup, and I am an official representative of QuickQuid. I’m here as a resource and I will do my best to offer any advice I have for users on this forum. Please feel free to PM me or ask any general questions you may have. If I can help, I would be more than happy to.

Thanks!

Nicole

Quickquid rep -

Although settlement has been agreed, I am still not 100% happy with the service I have received.

I sent several emails detailing my financial difficulty, requesting a temporary payment arrangement etc.

On one instance I asked for details of the regulator or how to complain as I wasn't happy with the advice I was given. A very rude response came and told me a manager would phone within 48 hours - I never heard anything.

The FSA sets out guidelines called Treating Customers Fairly, part of which is being sympathetic when customers are in financial difficulty. I sent you documentation from the Consumer Credit Counselling Service. One of your advisors suggested I contact a private debt management company, which again, breaches regulation as they are not financial advisors, also a private company would charge where CCCS offer free services.

Several times I have had to chase up an email confirming a payment would be accepted as full and final settlement - I have only received this this morning ans suggests a different amount to that which had been agreed on the online chat facility with Cherise in your collections team!

If it weren't for the fact I wanted to get rid of your company from my life, as at one point your unsympathetic collections team drove me to the brink of suicide, I would continue this complaint and expect some kind of compensation, escalate to the press etc, which believe me, I would have no qualms of doing.

Your response would be much appreciated

Hi Nicole

So can you tell me why mine was sold to a DCA called MacKenzie Hall and then in turn to a debt collection agency called JBDR? I spent ages trying to resolve my account with you guys (there are 76 emails in my QQ folder in my inbox!) and after rolling over my loan 3 times and not being able to afford any more I asked for help. You point blank refused my offer of £50 per month temporarily until my priority debts were paid up and sent my account onto a DCA which included more charges! I paid £127.50 interest 3 TIMES on a £600 loan so you have already got £382.50 interest and are now asking for £739.50 but refuse to set up a payment plan! Would you mind explaining huh?
