Remind them of their previous failed attempt.

2 phone calls a day from Freds and when I turned my mobile on this morning they had sent me a text message. How do they get mobile numbers?

And now a call to my mobile. Voicemail left which has cost me to listen, idiots

Some mobile phones are able to block calls.

By the way Fred's and Lowells are now part of the same evil empire.

Any text messages they send you forward them to 7726 (spam on your keypad) and they are then logged as such.

Send Freds the harassment letter, log all their calls, attach £18 LiP rates to each one, and inform them the amount they owe you, and the rate at which you are charging them for each call your not going to answer, should they wish to continue pursuing the issue.

So they're taking it in turns to send you threat letters, I hope you have made another complaint to the OFT/FCA for their attempt at trying to exploit a debtors lack of knowledge.

The letter I'm looking for is the updated version of the one in #9 of this thread, is there one?

Thanks for your help.

I think you can slightly amend the one in the link above - I do not recall the letter you have in post #9 ever being one of ours ! All the new references from the Financial Conduct Authority Source book are in the one above. I would think you just really need to head it Disputed Account or Formal Complaint. IMHO, Formal complaint would be more effective, especially as they are then obliged to respond to you within 8 weeks or you can escalate to the Ombudsman.

The OFT Guidance still stands and is referred to by the FCA unfair/misleading to use more than one company to pursue the same debt at the same time.

Report it.

The Office of Fair Trading no longer exists.. it is either Trading Standards, FOS or FCA.

Found the following on the website

The OFT is closing

OFT closes on 31 March 2014, and its work and responsibilities pass to a number of different bodies.

So who do I complain to ?

The Office of Fair Trading no longer exists.. it is either Trading Standards, FOS or FCA.

Thank you.

What an odd letter, if they want to bring this to a conclusion I would want it all in writing.

I've just realised just how long this has been running for.... FOUR YEARS!!!

Perfect evidence why letter tennis gets you nowhere, jeez, if they have failed to take any form of legal action against you

in all of this time, then it is pretty much safe to say, they never will
