Beware Park Beds __glasgow

This company run an eye catching advert in Scotland for specialist mattresses at discount prices. Despite all the benefits claimed in the advert, these mattresses are edit Park Beds don't reply to customer complaints either which only adds insult to injury.

Can you give an account of your specific experience-or that of some you know ?

I too had problems with their memory foam mattress.(Shenergy). Despite what the advert said i was wakening up soaked in perspiration. The mattress sagged on one side and when lying on my side my ankles were about 2" up from the mattress. I did not notice any of the many benefits stated in the advert. Put it in hands of Trading Standards since Park Beds stonewalled every attempt i made to contact them.

Not as yet. Visa refused to entertain chargeback though, but won't explain criteria for this service.

Shocking but yet typical of behaviour of companies that feel aftersales service is not important (if indeed it can be proven in this case )Can you expand on their stonewalling when you tried to contact them ?

Specifically-what did you say,what address did you send to and did you do this in writing ?

Hmn I didnt see any details for Park beds via a CCA search.

Now I am not suggesting these 2 companies are linked-merely that they both share the same postcode and address-and are seemingly both in the business of home furnishings !

Something else I find confusing.

In their privacy statement on their WS-Park beds state that they fully comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.

They give an email for people to contact-in relation to this.

 

Having done a provisional search on the ICO public register,I dont seem able to find any registration for Park beds-using the registered office details posted on their website.

I would certainly have thought that Park beds would need a CC licence-presumably the offer credit ?

Maybe a problem Martin. The lady i PM'd you about did a google search for Synergy mattresses and said no other complaints. I have not confirmed this as yet, but will have a go later on.

My google searches have also pulled up zilch.

From my own experience over 4 years on CAG,I have to say,that there are many many companies trading on CC licences etc which bear no relation to the core business.

For example we have seen debt collectors who list their business as allsorts of things from Ice cream sales to carpet cleaners...

 

Often trying to reconcile head office and main correspondence addresses is like chasing the dogs tail.

Hi Guys, after weeks of silence, i got a phone call from park beds today. The bloke has told me that if i trail all the way to glasgow, they will exchange this mattress for one of my choice. When i said i would go to their dundee store he replied that it was closed?!?!

Glasgow is a 120+ mile round trip from here, what should i do?

Hi Martin. Happy to report that Park Beds are to deliver a completely different type of mattress tomorrow. Hope this one does the job and end this distastefull saga.

Just discussing with SWMBO today, that I'm getting thoroughly fed up with having to behave like a Banshee nowadays, just to get firms to honour what should be normal customer requests. Could it be that many in business today simply forget exactly who is filling their wage packet?

Update. I asked if replacement mattress would be cheaper or more expensive. They said that it would be £50 cheaper.

(similar mattress by same name, and spec, offered by an online firm for£120 cheaper????). So I asked for the £50.

Stonewalled again and again. Now told them if payment not in 7 days, I will start small claims action.

What sort of pond life are running businesses today?
