well after a five month break.

wonga are back.

sis has received e-mail from wonga

stating that she was a valued customer before her "difficulties" and they have offered a reduced settlement of £230 to be payed in 3 monthly amounts.

they state it is a very generous offer....a third of the outstanding balance?....offer open for 2 wks...once honoured...she can re loan at a reduced rate untill she re-approves her trustworthness:smile:

she will need a bloody straw to eat her food if she ever loans with these types again.

no mention of cca.

any advise welcome, she wants it cleared up.

How much did she actually borrow to start with, if it is close to that figure then it is 'generous' of them - ask if it can be paid over 4 months instead of three.

I agree it is wrong of them to offer to make a reduced payment then say they will lend more once it is paid back - the interest on the new lend will be even worse.

I think the email should go to Trading Standards and the OFT.

original loan £150....rolled over 5 times.

balance owed when she defaulted was around £217-£227 me thinks.

they refused offers to pay back at £25 a week

added interest on and on.

went to barker and lowe

so cca sent

ignored

passed to grosvenor at around £595

they were told to return to wonga for cca breach

then had 1st credit ..who were sent bemused.

she has saved the money so she can pay this.

she saved the £25 a wk they refused.

if she pays I have suggested she pays in full into their account...

AND GET IT OUT OF THE WAY.but the e-mail states that she contact offer@wonga and updates her card details....in order to accept this offer.

concerned that they are after details so they can wipe her out.

I think she should pay and get rid of them.

no point it waiting for a cca, which they can not obtain.

Is it wise to e-mail and accept their offer, get a response from them, but stress that she will pay into their account.

want it in writting before she pays anything.

She could get a pre-payment mastercard, and use that as a one off....

Or get another bank account, Halifax, Co-op and Metro Bank all have good basic accounts and make sure her money goes into the new account, then pay from the old card.

Or ask them if she can send a postal order.....

E-mail sent.

ref.xxxxxx

This disputed amount, treble of the original amount owed, is solely made up of charges that were continully added after your refusals to come to a payment arrangement, and your ignoring of every attempt to resolve this issue since october last year.

The original amount owed would have been cleared in 9 weeks,at the rate offered at £25 weekly.

Therefore your generous offer of a 3rd discount (still a amount greater than the original balance ) is not so generous.

And I would ask you to take into account all the roll over fees that had already been payed.

Despite this and not to mention that you are still in default of my legal cca request,I would still,as I always have wish to resolve this.

I now ask that you also take into account your attitute over the last 12 months to my circumstances and look into this offer again.

I am prepared to make payment direct into your account only by standing order,I would prefer to clear this with a one off payment subject to your written conformation of the full and final offer. If this amount is still £230 then I will have to repay over 4 months.

Could you also confirm your bank details.

I look forward to your earliest response.

your thread makes good reading of how to deal with these cretins !

Looks like I will have to have some fun and games with these this month ! in short, partners handbag was stolen containing our bank cards ! so can not make payment on time, thus will default. I refuse to pay the £25 default fee !!! So, from phone call with the manager today who told me to "borrow the money" !! :o

well received a response...

They feel that £230 is a generous f&f in view of the total outstanding balance, and they will allow this to be payed over 4 months.

But on a re-view of your account history and previous loyalty, and as prefered by yourself to make a single payment, we are prepared to accept £150 as f&f on proviso that this amount is payed by 30th nov...

Then goes on to say that this is their final offer,That they look forward to settlement without the need to take further action?

oh yes:lol:will be taking up the offer of £150.

If only they had played fair, they would have had £25 a wk for 9 wks and gotten all that they were entitled to,and would have been settled in full in january.yet through their pure greed and lack of co operation and ar*e hole attitute they get £75 less 13 months later.

I had her putting up the original £25 a wk offered..£225 saved.

so she will now use £150 from that.

Done her a favour really as the other £75 can now be used to clear her LAST debt with provident, been paying £3 wk token and now only owes £158.....thinking of offering a f&f to them to get her straight.

There we go, simple way to confuse these payday loan lenders is to do as you have done, put the money to one side and when a sensible offer comes along then you can accept with gladness.

KEEP the emails and try to get them to confirm by email that you have NO further liability with them or any of their agents.
