After a long few months of this, that and the other, my ickle pooch Buffy is finally on the mend

 

Sticko, unfortunately, died but we do have one baby left (which is on it's last legs) We have tried to keep the eggs down to a minimum so we don't get inundated with lots of babies this time.

 

The fish is still swimming around saying Bob, Bob, Bob.

Ahh they are all so, so beautiful. We've got one cat left, Smudge who is Black and is 17 years old. Beautiful, faithful and obsessed with knocking her water bowl over (it's a cat thing).

 

It's unconditional love through and through

Our cats always got on with our rats too, it's funny how they seem to unconditionally accept that the rats were pets too.

 

I had one cat used to sleep on top of the rats cage, and the rats would groom her!

This is Tilly, our oldest cat (16 years). She is a Great-Grandmother.....

 

 

This was Smudge at 2 days old. He's the black and white one. He's now about 12 years and getting old.

He is Tilly's Grandson......

 

 

Smudge is having balance problems and weakness in his back legs. Vet gave him 2 injections and a course of steroids and ear-drops. He has made considerable improvement but I don't think he'll ever fully recover.

He still manages to get about (and out) and he has a terrific appetite, so he's obviously not suffering. His quality of life is good and that is the most important thing.

I'm looking after my son's friend's cat next week when they are all on holiday - he's a big friendly tom cat who might just end up at home with me for a week

The photo of Tilly was taken when she was about 8 months old. She's getting a bit grey around the head now, but she's still got ALL of her teeth and she still thinks she's a kitten.

She is one of the "fussiest" cats I have ever seen. If I stroke her, she invariably flops down and rolls over on her back to have her belly rubbed: Something she will stand for ages.
