I have just heard that the caravan owners on Golden Sands have formed an Association, which is great news. Its about time caravan owners united to stop these blatant profiteers from getting there own way unchecked. Lets hope other parks follow your lead!

Did any one notice?

In the owners news letter "we heve been busy booking all of the winter entertainment and fun activities with your cash."and goes on to say "Get your ticket requests in quickly to avoid disappointment."

Obviously there will be a charge, so you are paying Twice!!

On the positive side the David Bellamy Award is a fantastic achievement.

Just read about the award it looks good.(at first glance) But if they can get a silver award for something that is not up and running, then it's not as impressive as it sounds.

I was referred to a link which turned out to be a news paper article from last year.

Councilors in North Wales were pushing for legislation to allow them to get council tax from caravan owners who have 12 months usage of their vans.

If this has been persued then the legislation can't be far off.

This would be disasterous for most of us so we need to be careful.

Here are some links I managed to find in relation to caravan owners paying council tax. If this does come about I can see many owners being unable to afford the added cost resulting in many having to sell there vans for a pitance.

The Sun news paper is advertising open days at Golden Sands.

I advise prospective buyers to shop-around.

Watch out for hidden extras.

The facilities of the site's are reflected in the sits fees, and should NOT cause the caravan price to be hughly inflated.

Golden Sands have just announced they are to have an Owners Breakfast Morning over the next 2 sundays (16th and 23rd) in which both park owners will be in attendance to answer questions about the park and future developments.

 

The only problem is most of the caravan owners wont be there with having to hire there caravans to offset the spiraling costs. They would have got a better indication of peoples feelings by holding these meetings in September when most of the owners will be on park.

 

They have imposed a 12 month season on people who dont have a caravan with the luxury of double glazing and central heating. Do they think people without these luxurys are going to shiver in there vans over the winter months (I think not). People should have choice and not be dictated to in the manner they have ie "if you don't like it go somewhere else". Those who will not be using there vans over the winter months are in effect paying £595 for winter storage, which was "free" previously.

 

Golden Sands management have stated that most owners are in favour of the 12 month season. If that was the case there would be no problem in offering options for those not wanting to visit the park in winter.
