  1. i am £113 in expenses plus a massive amount of inconvenience and time this is now taking up. i can't save the invoice as a pdf at the moment as i don't have the software to do it will need to do it tomorrow on a different device.
  2. My airbnb booking was £139 for a 2 bed house in Bradford for family of 5 and two dogs Travelodge was £197 for one night two rooms not facilities to cook ect Take away dinner for 5 was £55 (was planning pasta for tea and cooking ourselves) sorting this whole mess out also took about two hours and caused a lot of undue stress i didn't need the night before a marathon.
  3. I have it in writing that they would refund me the cost of the additional accommodation that is what i find so frustrating is thy have agreed but won't accept my booking email as proof of booking. I don't think i can claim on my credit card under cca section 75 as the original booking was refunded. My main issue is that because the booking was cancelled at such short notice i had to book something else which cost more. I also had to buy diner for five because there was not cooking facilities in the Travelodge.
  4. I've sent airbnb a copy of my credit card statement. the VAT invoice that was emailed to me by Travelodge and they are refusing to pay saying i have not provided sufficient proof for the claim. I have now had a final decision and the case is closed. They are now ignoring my requests for information. Having had a look around there seems to be no regulator or ombudsman for @airbnb so i don't think i have anywhere else to go unless i try the small claims court.
  5. i have an issue with airbnb who are refusing to refund me and the complaints process it really unhelpful. Last month i booked 1 nights stay in Bradford, Yorkshire for my family of 5 and two dogs used the app in the normal way. We drove for over four hours to get there only for the host not to have given any access details to get in. Tried the helpline and they couldn't get hold of the host so the cancelled the booking and we were left with nowhere to stay. As i was running the Leeds Marathon the next day i needed to stay and find somewhere to stay and managed to find a travelodge obviously at short notice this cost me more than my booking with airbnb. When i got home i read the "aircover" terms and it states that if you are unable to get in they will find you alternative accommodation, i was not offered this and left on my own. i raised this as a complaint and they agreed to refund my the cost of the Travelodge if i provided them with an invoice. I though this would be the end of it but now having sent them the conformation emails from the Travelodge they are saying they are not a valid invoice and are refusing to pay. i have tried to challenge this and emailed the CEO and tried Twitter ect but no they are just ignoring me. I am about £100 out of pocket because of this but there doesn't seem to be any sort of ombudsmen to regulate them,.
  6. Is it worth trying to phone again to negotiate down? they said more costs will be added if it goes to a hearing. I want to avoid a judgment but still feel the amount claimed is unfair. I’m annoyed they won’t speak to me and they also saying I’ve left it to late to negotiate.
  7. Yes this was due before Xmas. Didn’t think I had a chance and was hoping for an agreement with them. I’m trying to call them this morning to negotiate. might be able to do a bit more than I have offered but don’t know how bad things might get next year with cost of living.
  8. What is a consent order and how do I negotiate with them? i spoke to someone this afternoon and I said I could pay £20 a month but I don’t accept the full amount claimed. I offer 750 and want negotiate the full amount claimed. they emailed just now and refused and said the hearing will go ahead. If they do get a judgment for the full amount I can’t afford to pay it so will have to in instalments anyway so hopefully they will come back with an offer. id like to avoid getting a CCJ if I can.
  9. I have still not heard back form the person named on the claim from Overdales despite calling and leaving several messages. My hearing is listed for Wednesday at 10am so it looking likely that they will get a judgement. i'll update further if i get anything back from Overdales.
  10. If i go to the hearing would i be able to contest the final amount owed due to the miss administration of them telling me they had discontinued the claim? My argument would be I had known it was going to proceed i would of accepted mediation? I don't really have then money to make a final payment and am hoping to offer £20 a month. What happens if they don't accept the offer?
  11. I have been trying to contact Overdales to discuss a payment and it is difficult to speak to anyone directly so i ended up emailing them last week. They suggesting a consent Order to give me time to make the payments but i haven't agreed a time frame. I want to depute the the total. can i get a Tomlin Order at the hearing?
  12. I could probably afford a few hundred upfront depending on when would need to be paid. Would it be worth making an offer than the £800 they offered to settle on original letter?
  13. does that mean there case is pretty water tight? what should i be looking to offer? and how do i go about doing it?
  14. i've finally managed to scan what i have from ovedales so far. they also sent me statements and generic T&Cs. I sent a CCA request to Lowell does what Overdales have sent count as fore filling this request? not had anything else from Overdales since they re-sent me the partial discontinuance letter.
