Dear All,

I sent of my SAR request a few weeks ago to CitiCards, which resulted in all my statements since I opened my account approx 18 months ago.

I found out I had paid around £300 in charges and the rate on my card was 14.9%, which is much lower than all my other cards so I decided not to persue the £300 any further. This month I am just about getting back on track with all my cards and CitiCards have put there rate up to 29.8% stating breach of T&Cs. This will obvisouly doublez my interest payments on this card.

I think I will now be persuing the charges with renewed vigour!!

I also note that since doing the SAR on the Abbey / MBNA and CitiCards most of my other cards have put up there rate by over 5%, is this normal?

A small update already:

I have just phone customer services to ask them about this as I broke the T&Cs in my second month of having my card open for late payment by two days.

They were helpful as I thought they would be, I asked them to put my rate back down they said it was a business decision that the time lords or someone took and it could not be changed. The nice chap said they could freeze my rate at 20.9% - which it snook upto last month without me noticing. But they would cancel my card - so basically it was a fixed rate loan at 20.9% until I clear the balance. Isnt that nice of them - not only am I going to pursue the charges but also complain about the hike in the rate.
