  1. You have strong grounds of complaint against One Call, so that it what you need to do. Send them a complaint in writing and say that you want to involve the FOS. Complains Handling Manager One Call Insurance Free Post PO BOX 664 Doncaster DN1 1WA
  2. One Call probably won't take you to Court. They will most likely just hassle you for a year, passing to outside debt collection agency to keep contacting you. Could go on for years. You should really pay One Call what is owed to pay the Insurance premium that you had a contract for. If you have a complaint about One Call, write to them and ask for final response so you can go to the FOS.
  3. Yes quite often if a customer wants to pay by standard order, the energy companies want an amount that covers approximate annual usage + a percentage to cover possible increased energy consumption e.g., cold winter.
  4. Depends on the local rules and what it says on your council rent agreement. Ask Council for written explanation stating law and any signed agreements they are using to require planning permissions for the changes you have made within grounds of your address.
  5. The FCA stopped mortgage companies adding Insurance to mortgage accounts a very long time ago. This was to ensure that interest and fees related to Insurance were not part of any mortgage account balance. So complain and go to the FOS if necessary. Mortgage companies can take out their own Buildings Insurance if the mortgage account holder has not provided confirmation the property is insured. And under mortgage terms these costs may be passed on to the mortgage account holder. But there should be no mortgage interest added related to Insurance.
  6. Going bust: More UK businesses go to the wall as inflation wreaks havoc WWW.MSN.COM Insolvency experts said companies are struggling to secure financing and pay off loans due to inflation and high interest rates I speak to people regularly about employment and business related issues. The trend over recent months is that businesses are starting to cut their costs by not offering as many hours to staff on zero hour contracts, making staff redundant and recruitment plans cancelled. In my local area, during the last quarter of 2022, there were regularly about 5000 job vacancies within 10 miles radius. During the last few months, the job vacancies number has dropped to about 3000. Government will need to consider how to offer significant financial help to businesses, while they struggle to deal with less demand from customers and an increase in their costs. Or the risk will be that the UK economy slides into a recession. UK is not the only one in this position, as other G7 countries such as Germany are also struggling, but UK inflation rate is 10.1% compared to Germany at 7.4%.

  8. Any Household that is struggling can check whether they might be entitled to benefits, by using one of the online calculators. Benefits Calculator - entitledto - independent | accurate | reliable | www.entitledto.co.uk WWW.ENTITLEDTO.CO.UK Check what benefit entitlement you are entitled to. The entitledto benefits calculator will check which means-tested benefits you may be entitled to e.g. tax credits, universal credit, housing benefit … Turn2us Benefits Calculator BENEFITS-CALCULATOR.TURN2US.ORG.UK Use the Turn2us Benefits Calculator to find out which welfare benefits you may be entitled to.
  9. Suggest that you call DLA on 0800 121 4600 It may need to be a new claim, unless you have documentary evidence to support reasons for delay in returning the form. Which is why I suggest that you call them to find out about the process and if necessary to request a new claim and form to be sent to you.
  10. Will probably watch it on TV. Would prefer an elected president as Head of state. But arguably UK only needs a PM running a Ministerial team with the permission of Parliament to carry out all functions on behalf of UK. Royal family would still exist and attract tourists, but would not have role in anything official like opening Parliament or signing off acts of Parliament etc. So not in favour of swearing an oath as that sounds very old fashioned and just part of theatrical production considerations.
  11. No you can add Disabled child element and still have LCWRA for yourself.
  12. The problem with Home Service and any of the Home Emergency Insurance, is that these companies don't have enough contractors to actually carry out the emergency works. In many such situations, people end up calling out their own local contractors to complete the work. If you really want this type of cover, then possibly it is best to have as part of a Home Insurance extended cover, rather than as a standalone product. But you may still end up calling your own local people out, but then have more chance of the Home Insurers covering the cost you incurred. Yes you can go to the FOS to complain about Homeserve, but need a final response letter from Homeserve. Or issue them with letter before claim saying they are in breach of the contract in not providing 'emergency' works and that you will issue a County Court claim unless they pay the full amount.
  13. If you wanted to add disabled child element in respect of child that has a DLA claim, then you report a change of circumstances under the section Children and other people who live with you. And the date you report on the change would be the date of the DLA claim. Once you report this change, UC will then look to verify and include the additional amount.
  14. Send a complaint asking them to find out where the missing payment are. Provide them with all information you have available to help them find the payments. As advised before. You should be paying based on what you would have to pay annually. Normally energy companies tell you roughly how much your annual bills will be based on your usage.
  15. DWP would not have paid you, if you were not entitled. The cost of living payment was paid on the basis you had entitlement to a payment earlier in 2023. The dates below are what the recent cost of living payment was based "entitled to a payment for one of these benefits between 26 January and 25 February 2023, or payment for an assessment period ending between these dates."
  16. As has already been advised, depends on original terms and condition as to whether Insurers had included clause allowing them to remove lifetime excess and If so what the process was to remove it e.g., the Insurers had to provide x number of days notice or they could only take this action in certain circumstances. Go ahead and make the complaint to RCVS. They should not chase debt whilst complaint is being investigated. 17. You have fallen behind with paying amounts for usage, due to number of estimated bills. There was a sudden jump when a meter reading was provided. You need to provide more regular meter readings to Octopus and set the monthly amount, so annually you are covering most of the usage.
  18. At work today one of my colleagues was complaining of similar issues with Octopus. I think you will have no choice but to cancel all payment arrangements to Octopus and send them a letter of complaint explaining why you have had to cancel the payment arrangements. And once you have complained to Octopus if they don't resolve to your satisfaction, then go to the Energy Ombudsman. /images/bitmap/ombudsman-share-image.png Energy Ombudsman: Here to help with gas & electricity complaints WWW.OMBUDSMAN-SERVICES.ORG Do you have an unresolved complaint about your gas or electricity provider? 22. Interesting podcast and worth reading some of the YouTube comments. UK has deteriorated during the last 10 years down to a lack of investment and perhaps visitors to UK notice this more?
  23. ESA claim would have to be closed as soon as you start employment of 16 hours per week or more or earn more than £167 per week. And once ESA closed you would not have the ESA amount deducted from UC award. Universal credit would be adjusted to take into account employment earnings. So if you earned £35k per year which would be about £2300 take home per month, the monthly UC award, would be reduced by about £1050 taking into account work allowance and 55p per £1 deduction rate. LCWRA under UC would continue and be subject to reassessment when this is due. Returning back to work will not affect this before reassessment outcome, however the medical professional is bound to consider that you have proved capability to work. UC carer element can continue, as returning to work does not alter eligibility of your partner caring for you. With the PIP claim, as soon as you start the 12 month course with guaranteed employment at the end of it, you would need to contact them with all information to see if the grounds for claiming have changed. Have the health/disabilities impact on daily living and mobility changed since you were last assessed for the benefit? The employment does not directly affect PIP, as earnings are not relevant, but of course actual work activities could suggest a change to the circumstances that led to the PIP elements being awarded.
  24. I think people would be very reluctant to make a bullying complaint against a Government minister, so I don't buy the argument that a motivated group of anti Government activists have decided to see if they can remove a minister. Governments of all colours have had conflicts with Civil Servants, most likely due to the stress of trying to Implement policies when there are so many barriers in the way e.g, existing legislation limitations, international agreement issues, practicalities, IT available, staff resources, finance etc etc etc. No point shouting at people as it won't make progressing policy implementation easier. Calm environment with people working together is much more likely to achieve results.
  25. What can i do regarding my expected lost benefits do they just get written off? Don't really understand the question. UC claim award would be NIL or significantly reduced, due to late payment of wages. The UC claim stays open. You claimed New Style JSA to get a personal allowance payment to cover basic costs. If the UC claim does not include Housing or Children and is just for a personal allowance amount, then once the JSA claim is paying you benefit payments, you might as well close the UC claim.
